Took a chance on a Facebook promotion thing - fully expected to lose my money...

Seems my scepticism was unfounded.

I’ve just videoed myself reading the next chapter of a Treasure Island. I’m doing it a chapter every couple of days.

Then I’m going to upload it to the messaging system of the primary school I work at (Teaching Assistant). The kids love it and I get to really ham it up.

Lucky bugger, the weather here has been glorious but today it has broken and we have heavy rain 🤨

Be happy, at least you have a reasonable time frame. I'm stuck waiting for Covid to let us finalise a divorce agreement, then the house has to be sold... then we get to split a devalued pension and a house sold in the middle of a depression. Feck.

Ouch, sorry to hear that mate.  Checked the damage on my pension the other day (I was looking at finishing next year) and it wasn't pretty.  Hope it pans out for the best.

Looks like it might break here too but indoors with it if it does.

Well. It’s up. Pressed a bit hard when putting up so have dented the canvas a bit. My own fault. Will mull over ideas of how to sort.

and it’s perfectly level, the coving isn’t...and I know Father in law will comment...he did the same in the old house when I did the TV on the wall (with a spirit level in the bracket and then showed him with a standard spirit level too - still wasn’t enough 🙄)

but - claiming this room back. All toys gone again (for now)

Washed a car, watched the Red Arrows fly passed over the hamlet, stood still for a minute or two at 11.00, put all the car paraphernalia away and am about to start cutting the grass, play some bass then veg for the rest of the day.

PS the car was mine, not a random strangers, although I am sure they would be greatful.

Bloodfire!!!!! You know I would be all over that in a flash, I could easily add Pelau, Johnny Cakes and callaloo and I have some nice Angosturra.

I should live next door - the Status basses could have friends for each other too.

I was sitting reading when my other half said the neighbours had asked if I could play some songs after the VE Day silence.  Seriously!? Errr, OK. Hastily arranged picnic table, laptop + speakers, practice amp outside house. Jammed over YT videos: Louie Louie, 500 miles, Thank you (Dido), Theme from Peter Gunn, Love Shack, You Keep it all in, Tainted Love, Can't touch this, Could you be loved, etc, etc. Playing in full sun with black tapewound strings - nightmare staying in tune - wind blowing my notes everywhere, couldn't see laptop screen, etc, etc.

Really rather enjoyed it, actually.

Yeah he was born 12/11/12, one of the most intelligent dogs I've ever had, complete maverick though, the first dog with no Border Collie blood I've trained. I then made the mistake of spending a fortune on a Lab with FTCH red all over her pedigree, if there's a dumber dog out there I've never seen it, really sweet, looks great, but oh deary, dear. Poppy was free and is a real angel apart from her bad hips (under control) and constant counter-surfing .

Think yourself lucky - you have a dumb example of an ordinarily intelligent dog breed. I’ve also got a really, really stupid example of an ordinarily pretty stupid breed, I give you “the pug” .
Yes, when the se x pistols titled their song “pretty vacant” they were in fact seeing far into the future and imagining Cookie the pug. She’s dumb, even for a pug.

Her cousin however is so clever that I actually expect to find her reading a physics book one day

... both mushrooms and halloumi cheese Refuse to maintain structural integrity during the skewering process. The mushrooms took some delicate manoeuvring but the halloumi! Jesu, I always forget how tricky it is. Never mind, enough is mounted.

Just had plates of 7 different types of cakes delivered by the neighbor for VE Day afternoon tea. A very nice and unexpected treat! 😃

We aren't the socialising types, so was quite surprised that I ended up outside chatting to my neighbours all afternoon
