SOLD Marshall DBS200 modified 1x 15 combo
£225
Wells, Somerset

Recommended Posts

Marshall 200 Dynamic bass system combo, Completely refurnished to better than new condition, recovered with black satin Tuffcoat paint, new corners and all metal handles. Originally a 4 x 10 but the speaker has been upgraded to a Celestion 1525 15" driver which works well in this rear ported cab. The original crossover and piezo treble horn have been retained with the rear panel horn volume control. Great sounding solid amp featuring mixable solid state and warm valve preamp, graphic eq and built in compression. The amp is rated at 200W but the power amp design allows 400W peak output which should be adequate for most situations.

I hate to ask the most asked for question.

Weight please..?

Weighing one side at a time with the digital bathroom scales  the total came out at about 40Kg which seems about right. Marshall do not seem to publish a weight in the user manual. It is large and very solidly constructed from ply (22mm I think).  The amp is also solidly built and being class AB has a weighty toroidal mains transformer. This all helps the sound but not portability! I fitted metal side handles to replace the plastic originals as they had a few cracks and it's an easy 2 man lift or a one man struggle! The castors are a great help though! The weight is the main reason I'm selling it as it sounds great IMO.

      Great bass amp, I've owned it since 2011, used for a couple of gigs over the years and packs plenty of power.

      The flight flight case alone cost £70 new. (Flight case does have lids, not shown in pics) Responsive EQ with bass, middle, treble controls as well as 2 low mid and 2 high mid sliders.
      Sub-frequency and Valve Drive switches/controls add for even more flexibility.

      Fully functioning in great condition, never had any issues. One knob missing (see sub-harmonic dial) Comes with power lead. Output power 500 watts RMS Made in China in 2006.

      Collection or meet up preferred. Any questions drop me a message.

      Trace Elliot cab for sale in good working order.
      As can be seen from the photos the information has worn off the back, but I am informed (see posts below) that it is a 2103x rated at 200 watts at 8ohms. It sounds great with the combo shown in the photos (combo not included). Those 5 inch speakers are great in comparison to 'usual' tweeters.
      I think that it is pretty rare; I can't find another one for sale anywhere at the moment.
      The covering is a dark / grey matt vinyl. It has some scuffs and a couple of small holes, nothing significant.
      It has had trolley wheels added, which are securely attached and are a real help because it is heavy.
      I will ship at buyer's cost. Due to the weight I think that it will be £35-£40 per item. I'd also be willing to deliver to pretty much anywhere in England or closer parts of Wales for cost of petrol / tolls / parking, just ask and we'll see if we can arrange something.
      You're welcome to come and try if you like. I'm very close to j26 of the M1.
      I was not planning to sell the Trace combo in the photo, but I will sell the whole rig for £250 (ie I'm definitely not looking to sell the combo alone). The amp has a slight hiss in operation, but nothing in comparison to the sound that comes out! All of the knobs and switches work as they should and it is super loud with the awesome trace tone. Both amp and cab are pre-Gibson.
      Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer.

      Vintage Trace Elliott AH200 BassAmp and Cover For Sale,
      Now SOLD - thanks for all your interest! 👍😊
      For sale only is my Trace Elliot AH200 Amp which I bought on Basschat from @stewblack earlier this year. Here's a link to Stew's ad which includes a link to a short video clip of the amp working :
      The amp is in good working order and comes with it's original Trace Elliot cover as can be seen in the photos below.
      Despite the fact that it's a high quality English made, classic design bass amp that's packed with quality components and features, it's really portable for such a powerful amp!
      On that point, it delivers 200 watts at 4 ohms and trust me, they are seriously loud, old-skool Trace watts which to me, sound as loud as my Hughes and Kettner Bassbase 600 watt amp.
      Apart from the classic Trace Elliot pre-shape switch - which I'd say gives you one of the classic bass tones of the last 35 years  at the push of a button - it also has a switchable 12-band graphic EQ which gives you further extensive controls to easily shape your tone.
      Having said that, there is an inherent Trace Elliot tone to this amp in my opinion which is great straight out of the box also! I think someone else on Basschat once described it as 'hard-baked' which in my head equates to a dry, punchy and vintage bass tone.
      Tech Spec:
      * 200 Watts of power at 4 ohms
      * Passive and active input sections
      * 12-band graphic EQ
      * Variable control for the graphic EQ
      * Balanced DI out
      * Effects loop
      * Noise reduction switch
      * Line in/Line out
      *  Headphone socket
      [Not sure how this link has appeared twice and now it has, I can't seem to remove it, so please ignore..]
      In terms of weight, it’s about 9kg, and very easy to carry - lighter than the 300W version even though it is nearly as powerful. It’s convection cooled via a massive aluminium heatsink on the back – so no fans to go wrong. It does have that slight background 'hum' that these amps are known for, but it's not intrusive in my opinion..
      There's plenty of reviews online for these amps, including YouTube videos, so I won't duplicate them here.. Suffice to say, if you want to hear one of these in action or get feedback on how they sound, the interweb is your friend.. 😁
      I'm selling because I've got too many amps and not enough gigs! And, when I was gigging more regularly before the lockdown, I tended to always use my full valve amp...
      So, here's your chance to pick up a classic versatile and great sounding bass amp at a very affordable price!
      Covid safe and properly socially distanced vewings are possible and welcome (by arrangement) in Littlehampton, West Sussex and yes, I'm happy to send by fully insured courier (at buyer's expense) if necessary.
      Any questions, please ask away here or send me a PM.
      Thanks for looking as ever... 😊

      *** Now SOLD ***

      Hi Folks,
      For sale only is my Hartke HA5500 Amp which I bought on Basschat last year from @Linus27
      This is the big brother to the more commonly seen HA3500 head, which is now acknowledged as one of the classic bass amp designs - a testament to Larry Hartke's impact on the bass world over the last 30 years or so...
      The amp is in very good working order and is in great condition comes with a Stagg case which makes it really portable. See photos below.
      This is an amazingly versatile amp that is 500 watts and it really is mega loud and has plenty of 'heft' ! 😁  No wonder it was Billy Sheehan's 'go to' amp of choice for years!!
      It delivers 500 watts at 4 ohms and 330 watts at 8 ohms. It has a tube preamp (a single 12AX7) and a solid state preamp with the option to blend the two sounds - which is a really great feature.
      Apart from the two preamp option, it has other fantastic tone shaping features which are extremely easy to use, including a fantastic compressor and a switchable 10-band graphic EQ.
      And as if that wasn't enough, it also has a low pass and high pass contour filter. To be honest, I have always tended to use these 2 contour controls instead of the graphic EQ to dial in my sound, but if that's your thing, then the graphic gives you loads of additional control over your sound.
      Here's the link to the tech spec and more info..

      * Variable compression
      * XLR direct out
