Bit of a Marmite bass, but I saw the Crickets at the Albert Hall, and they used one, and it blew me away, so..........

these  are so much better basses than they should be !

however, this is a Korean reissue, in near to as new condition, short scale, really light.

Always gets attention !

Collection only from Worthing or Chichester

Great little basses these, sound much bigger than you'd expect.  I was selling mine a few months back but also wouldn't post as I only have gig bags for the shorties.  Ended up keeping it and haven't regretted that decision.

There were a couple of people who've contacted me in the last couple of weeks asking if it was still for sale so hopefully you'll get some interest.

Thanks, Yes they're quite a surprise, when you plug them in. I have a blue burst , as well, that was the colour the Crickets had !

and thanks for the hint on the telecaster case.

In my time, I've driven all over the country to collect something that I particularly wanted. Got fed up with carriers lack of care, especially as I have a fondness for old valve amps which don't like to be dropped ! Last trip, quite recently, was from south coast to North Yorkshire and back, only there for 10 mins, and they didn't even give me a cuppa !

But I'm glad I did it !

Best Wishes

Let us know who that was Mike, if it was a Basschatter I'm sure we can sort out a lifetime ban and perhaps a public flogging!

Are these repro versions still made out of cardboard, I mean Masonite?

Masonite ( hardboard over here ) is a composite wood and is still used in their construction I believe, with the front and back panels being attached to a pine frame. Apparently it also makes a great wobble board. 😄

My Dano sounds a lot better than some traditional wood bodied basses I've heard too...

They seem reasonably hardy for all the hardboard construction.  I wouldn't sit on one straddling 2 chairs like a Steinberger cricket bat though.

Like Pete says above, the sound doesn't sound thin or 'hollow-body' like though
