Helix Users - What Onstage Monitoring?

Hey Guys!

Going to invest in a Line 6 Helix LT for live use after much deliberation about my sound going forward :)

I mainly use IEMs but I do want some backline on onstage monitoring for that live feel and to keep the rest of the band happy! We always miss that onstage warmth when we don’t have backline.

So...what backline or monitors are you guys using, do you like it, what should I be checking out? All life experiences and opinions welcome!

Strongly leaning towards the powered 1x15 plus horn FRFR monitor wedge route at the moment - something JBL-ish maybe :)

Or DXR12 if you fancy a bit more thump. Honestly, I’d say there’s no need to lug around a big 15” monitor, especially for your usage scenario @acidbass

I own an RCF HD32a which I use at home but on my current theatre gig we rehearsed with Yamaha DXR12s for monitoring and they were bloody excellent. Filled the whole rehearsal room with full, warm, bassy goodness. Photo below was my rehearsal rig:

I just use a regular amp / cab set up when I need backline. I have two parallel signal paths running in the helix. One has amp and cab sim and goes to foh via xlr out and the other has no amp or cab sim and goes to my backline via the 1/4 inch jack output. Both signal paths have overdives / distortions / compression / eq etc that are switched when snapshots are changed.
