This is the updated 2nd generation version in mint condition and I believe that there are very few of them about. This version has the upgraded bridge and knobs as standard from the factory (see pics). It has an alder body, ebony fretboard, white binding on the neck and rolled fretboard edges on a jazz sized neck with a non sticky satin finish on it. Will be setting it up with low action and pretty new Ernie Ball Super Slinkies before sale. I’m only selling it has I recently bought a Nate Mendel Signature P bass and no longer use it. There is a sticker on the front as I didn’t like the look of the joins in the wood but that is purely comestic. Send me a private message if you want any further information or pictures. Price is £350 and happy to post to UK for an additional £20.
I am looking to add a Mustang bass to my collection. I have been browsing and have narrowed it down to the American Performer or the JMJ.
I know many Mustang purists don't like the Jazz pickup looks on the performer series but I quite like the look of it and really like the arctic white. The JMJ has amazing reviews online but I am not sure about buying a road worn guitar.
With the US performer coming in at £899 and the JMJ at £949 I would be interested to hear some other views?
At the moment I'm leaning towards the American performer model. Any help greatly appreciated 🙂
Very good condition with a few small dings near strap button nearest to the bridge which I have photographed.
Fitted with a new set of DR Neons strings and Yamaha gig bag is included.
Truss rod works fine and it plays beautifully thanks to a low action.
Bass Direct are selling this model new for £745 so a significant saving here.
Can post if required, expected cost £30 but will confirm with buyer.
Thanks for looking and any questions please ask.

Here is my review I posted a while ago shortly after I acquired it:
BB 734A is a Alder/Maple/Alder constructed Bass Guitar from Yamaha, featuring a hard maple centre to both increase stiffness and to accentuate the mid-range. The neck is slightly thinner than previous BB models, to help improve playability and is made up of beautiful 5-ply maple and mahogany. Onboard the guitar features two YGD Custom V7 pickups and you can completely shape your tone using the V7's 3 band EQ, pickup balancer and the active/passive switch. The unit's "Diagonal Body Thru Stringing" helps to reduce stress by transferring string vibration to the guitars body.
Alder / Maple/ Alder Body Construction
6-Bolt Miter Neck Joint
YGD Custom V7 Pickups (AlnicoV)
3-Band Active EQ - treble becomes passive tone is passive mode.
Battery Alert LED
Vintage Plus Bridge : Convertible Bridge and Saddle
Lightweight Open Gear Tuners
This one is really going to hurt - But The "cull" must continue, sadly - I need to reduce the amount of "stuff" I own, and thin my collection (although this need has lessened a little lately).
For sale only is my Limelight medium relic Precision, in faded Fiesta Red. This really is a superbly built bass, as anyone who knows Mark's work really is.
NOTE: This bass has a Jazz width neck (which is what I asked Mark for)
I don't know what pickups Mark uses in his Limelight range - but they sound superb.... the bass has a lovely warm vintage tone. It weighs around 4kg, according to my digital scales. Currently strung with Round wounds, which are in great shape (I put flats on it for a while, but have recently put the supplied round-wounds back on it).
I don't have a case or spare gigbag, so you will need to bring your own. Collection only - or we can meet somewhere mutually convenient - I have an excellent Bose Battery powered amp, or Vox Amp Headphones for you to listen to the bass.
Putting up my 5 string for the chop and sticking with the 4s for now.
Amazing workhorse 5. Just really easy to play with a great range of passive tones that slots into all styles well.
It's got a bit of light gig wear to it but otherwise great condition.
Seemingly unavoidable PA speaker is too close to me small chips and scuff to the top of the headstock.
Some light swirling to the finish but no serious wear or anything through the finish.
Weight is 4.4kg on my kitchen scales.
I can post at buyers risk in worn but functional CNB gig bag and boxed for £25.
