Selling my recently acquired Kiloton bass from Bass Direct.

Never tried a G&L before so bought this just after buying a few other basses, it sounds great, proper bass.  However I have over extended the finances, so this one has to go.

It is a b-stock bass with a crack to the finish on the back of the bass and a mark to the top of the headstock.

£300 delivered, £275 collected.

Ha! I’m doing Panto at the New Wolsey Theatre - acting and playing bass in the show which is a whole lot of fun but very sweaty work!

Excellent, I bet.

I hope you managed to avoid the problems on Norwich Road.

i am on the east side of Ipswich, not too far away.

Sorry rogue P in the listing! now amended.

That makes sense!

Incidentally, with the single coil setting, does it sound remotely p like? I understand that the single coil is the one nearer the neck - just wondering what sort of sound this has.

Is it far enough forward to get near to the P sound, or far enough back to do the bridge solo jazz thing?

As you say being positioned as far back as it is the location doesn't lend itself to a classic p-bass tone, definitely more Jazz than P bass, and a modern take at that.

would it be possible to make a feature of the crack in the finish and do something like this:

The resin fills the cracks, U guess I would probably have to increase the size of the crack for the resin to take.

The resin would work quite well against the white finish

My two basses with the best, cutting tones are an L2000 and a M/M PASSIVE USA SUB. This seems to have a similar pickup placement to the SUB and being passive, I imagine produces a similar tone with a slimmer neck. Prefered my passive USA SUB to the active SUB USA which I moved on.

The Kiloton differs from the passive stingray in that you coil select on the pickup to change the tone (single/series/parallel) and have a bass boost/cut.  But agree, it barks due to the positioning of the pickups. Love mine, close to p bass on the single coil setting and powerful humbucker goodness in the other two modes.  Love G and L's simple approaches making them gig monsters.
