I'm thinking of putting together a pbass that sort of hits that 'duh' woody spot and was interested in trying out a pbass body in mahogany. Rexel Matador Posted October 30, 2019 Share Posted October 30, 2019 I bought one of those Gear4Music bodies and I really think they should make it clearer they're not quite a standard P-Bass shape. I had a neck and scratchplate from a Squier Matt Freeman and neither fitted properly. I couldn't get the control area of the scratchplate to cover the cavity. Aftermarket bodies made in china rarely fit the fender spec, however there are exceptions - I found Harley Benton P bass bodies are to fender spec. I think the thin bit of the neck pocket broke when I was putting it in - so possibly my fault as much of anything. I remember it all being very awkward. The scratchplate definitely didn't fit. prowla Posted November 2, 2019 Share Posted November 2, 2019 I'm not sure what wood it is, but there's a Peter Cook Mighty Mite bass body which keeps appearing on some selling sites.
