Really curious about the tracking - having already played the IR model when they were being put together by local boutique  luthier Charles Cilia.

Would love to see a pic of it installed on your board when it's ready :)

Love that bling!

Only tried different sounds, this unit already sings. Very good tracking. Smaller and lighter package is a nice touch.

I have to say @GisserD, the compact housing is a work of art. I'm kinda used to seeing mine on the board but noticing this thread has reminded me how cool it really is!

I need a new Midi interface to mess with this. M Audio decided to not update drivers for my old one. How I laughed.

Is the Roland UM One still the one of choice? Does it work on Mac OS 10.15.3 Catalina? The drivers seem to have stopped at 10.11

Anyone with any 1st hand experience?

TIA.

Or I am looking at an all in one SSL2+. Again, any experience?

UM-One MK 2 Goes to 10.15:

Still the interface of choice. I think Zsolt who writes the editor is using one.

If it is good enough for Zslot then it is good enough for me.

I did look at the Roland page and only found up to 10.11. My wife recognises this behaviour.

Thanks

You can take the MOTU Pre 8 Firewire off the list of known working MIDI interfaces. It does not work :(

Have you updated its firmware?

Hi there,

sorry I didn’t respond sooner, I’ve only just seen this. I’m using (hack - spits in a bucket ptuh! What a piece of stinky poo )  Catalina 10.15.3 for my pains. Sometimes stuff works, sometimes not. Unfortunately I don’t know if that’s due to my UMone. There is a driver update for the interface which did help matters, but life since Catalina is fraught with issues all over my computer.

No, your interface’s firmware. If that’s not up to date then it could cause problems with the FI update. (Not Having updated the UM-One driver was the reason @SICbass and I couldn’t get his FI to update on his Mac.)

MAudio stopped supporting my Mbox II some time ago. I was infuriated that a perfectly good piece of hardware could be rendered obsolete so arbitrarily.  I resolved to never spend more than the absolute minimum on an interface again. I hope the same hasnt happened to my MAudio Delta 1010 but suspect it may have, which would be another damn waste.

Last update for the 8Pre-FW is 2008. "The developer of this app needs to update it to work with this version of macOS. Contact the developer for more information.". It works fine as an audio interface with Catalina and I am only borrowing it while I wait for the SSL 2 to actually be available. This should be within the week so it is not big deal. The SSL 2+ will be not very much more than a SSL 2 and a Roland UM-One but the 2+ has MIDI ports so I will prob go for one of those. It is beyond comprehension that they will not have proper Catalina drivers.

I had a plan. But I think I've realised it's silly.

I am definitely rehousing the FI in a compact enclosure. That's a no-brainer for saving space on my board.

Then I was going to leave the FI activated, and use a line selector pedal to route signal through the FI when I wanted the effect, because I don't want to accidentlaly step on the rotary encoder. Plus I was going to make a homemade Arduino box with program down and program up footswitches (MIDI CC 67 and 88).

BUT it's just occurred to me that I could get rid of the line selector,  and instead put an extra footswitch on my homemade unit to switch the FI on and off (MIDI CC 69). Then I may as well add a 4th footswitch in case I want to make it to do something else for a specific program.

I know that @Quatschmacher will try again to persuade me to get a Morningstar MC6  but I think I'm happy with my plan for now. Can anybody see any flaws in this plan or does it make sense?

Of course I will. 😆

Posted (edited)

Here are five patches I intended to share for free but there seems to be a problem with the database site - either my permissions are blocked or there is a wider problem. Could someone please check if the "add new" button is visible and let me know. @GisserD, @lee650, @SICbass

The SSL2+ works as a MIDI interface. The MOTU 8 pre might as well. I think I had a duff MIDI lead.

@Quatschmacher I'm afraid I'm not able to check at the moment because my pedal is semi-permanently installed at the show where I work. If I took it with me my colleagues would be a bit knackered.

Amazing drive pedal, bought new in 2016.
Works great with guitar, bass, synth, just about anything.  Use of Tone and Filter controls in conjunction allow plenty of low end through for bass.
Capable of subtle drive to all-out fuzz. Expression pedal input allows you to control the Filter for some useful filter sweep/wah-like effects.
Comes with box. Price includes postage.

Price Drop - NOW £150 (including postage), these are currently £236 on GAK so this is a real deal for a pedal thats in great condition 🙂
Electro Harmonix Bass Microsynth. Really fun pedal for getting some cool synth sounds out of. Selling because I tend to play any synth bass on my Bass station these days.

PRICE DROP: 3Leaf Audio You're Doom fuzz/harmonic generator pedal for sale - fantastic sounding fuzz pedal. It responds brilliantly to your dynamics and combined with the wet/dry blend means it can produce a massive range of tones from very subtle to crazy! It also pairs very well with envelope filters to produce synth-like tones, definitely the best if you're going down the route of synth tones via octave pedal, envelope filter and fuzz. The toggle swicthes from a mid-present sound for more lead-type tones, to a mid-scooped version which sits very nicely.
Now £150 including UK delivery, boxed and in great condition, also has the original rubber feet in the box. It's lived on a pedalboard and been well looked after.

      Hey Guys.
Up is my Moog Freqbox. The infamously insane pedal. This pedal creates a note from a real analogue oscillator that tracks to your pitch, ie you can make your bass sound like a real Moog oscillator, or blend it in with it. There are tonnes of options with these so I'd suggest have a little youtube delve into all of the sounds they can make. This has only had studio use the whole time Ive owned it I recently had a chat with Phil Hartley from Space who said its all over their records.

This is a 2004 model in pretty excellent condition, these are increasingly rare and sought after since the Moogerfooger line was discontinued recently. Price includes UK shipping. If you have any questions please get in touch. At the moment I am not really looking for trades as I have an Alpher to fund!
