The Big Fat South-West Bass Bash - Now Sunday 19th September 2021

Re the food, (assuming I don't have a last minute positive test) I'm a veggie  so there's enough on the menu to suit me, not sure what the vegan option is...? Oh, and a double helping of the fretless bass as well please! Also I'll test myself before I set off too.

I'll be wearing a mask around my neck and depending on numbers and proximity I may cover my face at times, which I appreciate may look a bit unfriendly but am sure we all understand why?

Sabby (Mrs. Woodinblack) has kindly offered to do a vegan quiche, pizza swirls with home-made pepperoni and lotus biscoff cake (wowzer!!).  We'll also bring some falafels and vegan cheese.  Re PPE, I think we'll all just be doing what feels appropriate - including anyone who feels the need to be fully suited and booted.  We'll make sure there's good ventilation and there are hand-sanitizer dispensers.

Just been digging around and have come across a very nice grey Blake Guitar Solutions Bass Case, this is so padded you could sleep in it and it has waterproof zips too, so I'll be selling it for £40

( new over £120) and no longer available and also a Hercules Folding Music Stand for £15.00.

Brilliant, we will be doing something in the side room with home built cabs it would be great if you could join us there tomorrow with your two cabs.

I'd like to do another cab shootout in the side room but i've left it late to  organise, It would be great to do a shootout of 12's preferably with tweeters so if you have anything at home fitting that description it would be great to bring it along so we can compare as many brands as possible.

It would be nice to gather as many self builds as possible too and I'm hoping to be able to run people through winISD if anyone is interested and to offer any help on self building I can.

Yes that would be great. It's really interesting to hear others cabs and chat about their experience and what works and doesn't as well as the design process and tools.

I have my TC112s. Well, I also have my BC112 cab but you have seen that!

Do you want it recording again, I could bring the camera, and maybe we could actually record the audio too

I can't remember which BC112 version you have, if it is a tweetered version and you have space it would be good if you could bring both and the TC would be great anyway. I'll bring my Zoom Recorder but the room acoustics aren't great as we know. It might be nice to have a couple of photo's but I'm not going to be expecting it to be very formal so i'm not sure a video would work.

Damn, I've got an SWR Bass Monitor 12 which would have fitted the bill but it's at a mate's studio in Bath.

...AND A FEW MORE THINGS

  • PPE - there are hand sanitizer dispensers in the hall but please bring whatever else you think you might need.
  • Bass stands - don't forget them!
  • Cash - there are no ATMs near the hall so bring cash if you're buying.
  • Ear plugs/defenders - no compensation will be paid for hearing damage sustained at the Bash 😉  As before, there's a separate Quiet Room suggested 'noisy time' in the hall will be between 10-to and 10-past every hour.
  • Covid tracing - Graham on the door will have a list of everyone present but please give him your contact phone number on arrival (plus your post-code if you want to enter 'furthest travelled')

Ah, man!  I’m so gutted I’m missing this!  The kids are ill now too, so I’m definitely not coming 😢

Good job I got a new bass to cheer me up though!

Sorry to hear that, I was going to chase you about half finished projects :) Hope the family aren't too bad and will all be on the mend soon.
