I had pencilled this in, now ruling it out as September is getting busy. See some of you at the Milan* bash on the 4th 👍

* autocorrected from "Midlands", but I'll leave it as an optimistic idea for 2022.

On a non-Bash-related subject, does anyone know of a good, reliable drummer free to join our classic-rock covers band Silverback currently gigging 1-2 times a month in the Bristol-Exeter area?  Our current drummer has been struggling with a shoulder injury for some time and regrettably it looks like it's completely beggered now.  He battled his way through last night's gig and decided that was enough.

Let me know under what rock you've found one, Mike! We've been struggling for nearly 3 years now, with deps, drummers that join the band and end up not up to it, drummers that don't have the time to practice/gig, ads everywhere... Good drummers are hard to find!

  • 2 weeks later...

I was so looking forward to seeing everyone (and I had a raft of Markbass goodies ready to show you, including the new Gloxy bass, which will be in sale in the UK from November for circa £540...! I can post pics if youd like to see it!), but sadly I have to work at The Photography Show at the NEC.. 😫 Hope you all have a smashin time!

That's a shame, you and all the stuff you bring will be sadly missed.  Hope the show goes well.

Can we just have an update on who's bringing what for the raffle?   I'll be putting in: a 'Bash yer bass' T-shirt; a Tony Butler solo album CD; a tidy Ibanez gig bag (standard-scale); and a gift pack of local Somerset produce.

Not long now 😊

How very organised! At the Midlands one we sort of rolled up with odds and sods (mainly chocolate as it was all short notice) and fortunately Jamie found some tickets left over from 2½ years ago. 😅

Have a great time guys and gals.

`I'll be bringing a musicians toolkit, a load of CD's and if anyone  wants some back issues of Bassist Magazine (UK one) happy to bring them too. Maybe some Basschat straplox also...

If anyone brings a copy of August 1998 Bassist I'll be happy to sign  the 'My Bass is a Jaydee Supernatural Roadie' 2 page spread, my print debut and swansong too.

I had better add myself on to this list.

25. Pinball: Amplification: GB 2x12 and streamliner

Burnes Marquee bass, G&L Fallout, Supro Huntington 1, Fender Jazz Bass Special/boxer, Peerless Jack Casady.

I also a Revelation Dub King if anyone wants to see it but let me know as I have to get it back from a buddy.

Keep me a space!

Stuff for the auction? I don't know that I have much spare to be honest but will have a look.
