Does a more dried out neck mean less need to adjust the truss rod in spring/autumn? As it seems to be atmospheric changes which I assume affect the necks due to moisture?

I would guess the neck should be more stable as that's what it's designed to do in shingles, it stops them expanding and contracting with heat and moisture to limit splitting.
