I know MEC mostly from Warwick basses, which are a bit too "modern" for my liking. Can you describe the sound they make?

Also, does "active" mean that their output is no good without an on-board active buffer?

These are from a Warwick Streamer Stage 1.

Describing sound is subjective, you may be better looking for clips on YouTube etc.  The model numbers are above to help.

I think the active part in the description means that they connecting to the battery supply to power them.  Again, the model numbers are above for you to research further if youd want to check as to their suitability.
