Basschat offers exclusive discount for EU shipping

I think I am going to use Eurosender for the first time to send a bass from belgium to France. The belgian post is cheap (16.4 euros) but there is no insurance otpion and I don't want to take the chance... if something goes wrong it's an almost complete loss.

So I will use Eurosender. Any tip for a first time user ?

Thank you

1.      Write the name of the box:

-        In the case, the label is damaged, write on the box receiver and senders information, so it can be tracked.

2.      Sending from a company, hotels or public address:

-        In the case you are sending, let us say, from office, you need to put companies name first following the person who is gonna give the parcel.

-        The same case is if you have a reception in the building or similar, you put reception then the name of a person.

3.      Proper pickup and delivery address:

-        It is really important to place exactly address.

-        If there is no name od door, place the doorbell

-        Use correct zip code for your address.

-        Pay attention if it one-way street or there is nor space for them to stop and handle the parcel.

-        Providing the local phone number! Couriers are not obliged to call you.

-        Always check the details on Google map.

4.      Missed collection:

-        ASAP Contact Eurosender and we will see what is feedback from couriers (wrong address,…) and schedule it for the following day.

5.      Size:

-        Standard shipping.

Weight up to 30 kg,

The maximum length of 175 cm,

Length (in cm) + 2x width (in cm) + 2x height (in cm) < 300 cm

-        Express shipping limitation.

Single dimension in excess of 120cm and

up to 300cm is allowed

Max. weight: 70 kg

6.      Insurance:

-        Insurance applies if the package is well packed.

-        The hardcase is the preferred choice.

-        This package needs to be well packed as it is often handled by machines and conveyor belts as well.

-        Isolated from vibration.

-        Take picture of how it is packed. If you packed it well, you can use it in the claim process.

-        If you see the damaged on the box, ask for couriers to fill the report. If you see damaged in size. Immediately contact Eurosender and provides us with pictures.

-        Bass guitars deserve to be fully and properly packed and that is your responsibility.

-        In the case of damage, Eurosender starts a claim against courier who is responsible for handling packages.

7.      Excluding couriers:

In the case, you would like to exclude specific courier, let us say DPD, you need to create a profile and then write to [email protected] that you wish to be excluded. Keep on mind, that second suggested option can be more expensive we alert offer most affordable option compared to the quality.

8.      Placing the order:

-        Select the packages!

-        Is it EU-EU or not?

If it is EU is can be express and standard. If it is non-EU and globally it is just express!

-        Standard vs. express shipping.

Standard shipping is more affordable. The express option is considered more premium services as it has lees transport points.

9.      Payment:

-        Go to www.eurosender.com

-        Choose from and to where you will send and click next

-        Enter delivery and pick up address and click next

-        Review your order

-        Choose your payment method and enter code BASSCHAT10

I just used them for the first time and it was great! Eurosender’s dashboard is a bit useless (bass was delivered last week, still hasn’t updated) but not necessary as the courier send tracking details etc to you.  Insurance is very competitive as well.  Booked, collected next day, delivered day after, job done 🙂

This has been my experience too - collection booked Wednesday, picked up Thursday, delivered Friday.

One happy buyer of an Ashdown valve amp giving me good feedback 👍

Having a poor experience with them unfortunately.

Firstly they failed to collect yesterday.

Now I’ve just been told the ‘courier’ they are using won’t collect from the door of my flat. I have a physical condition so getting the bass down to the street (only place they’ll collect) will definitely raise my pain levels no end.

Super pi**ed off.

Apparently they won’t come to my door because they are a freight company, not a courier.

So not Covid related - just a miss sell.

Booked Monday, missed collection Wednesday, only find out Thursday - just doesn’t sit right with me.

Hi Chiliwailer,

Courier drivers will pick-up shipments from the outside of the building and not from closed spaces. That is the restriction that all couriers have and as well lowering max weight of the package to 30kg, as the package is handled by 1 person. We need to follow the instruction that couriers set as a safety measure.

The second thing, I do understand the importance of packages being delivered promptly, but as you can imagine all couriers are working on full capacities and some delays might happen. As well, if you are going to place any orders around Christmas, I would advise you to plan it accordingly and be aware of holidays.

Let me know if I can somehow assist you.

The Wednesday issue was due to a phone number error on your side, which I know was rectified in good time. More clarity and early warning on collections would have been helpful, I’m sure I’m not the only one that this is an issue for.

As luck might have it, the courier had to come to my door today because he didn’t get the phone number. How ironic.

Sometimes the ball gets dropped eh?

Another tale of woe:

Used Eurosender due to the BassChat code, all booked in fine - then get an email saying the collection day has been changed, then another email saying the details are incorrect. I hop on the live chat and ask what's the issue, was initially told I had not put a space in the recipients postcode - I then had to send them a screenshot of THEIR OWN EMAIL showing there was a space. Then it was an issue with my address, they said the city suburb I stay is not actually part of Glasgow, I have never had an issue with my address with any courier, this went on for a while as they tried to tell me that I needed to change it so I let them change it - this caused me to miss the cutoff for collection the next day so due to their system I now had extra two days wait.

Cue today - no collection.

Excellent.

Interesting. On the first occasion I used them, as per my post earlier in this thread, the issue was (apparently)that I DID put a space in the postcodes. This resulted in a rescheduled collection from me, so no biggie. Every time I have used them since, I have put no slaves in any postal codes and it’s been OK. What difference it makes in the UK I have no idea. You’d have to be fairly stupid to not find your way to a correct postcode with or without spaces.

Rants and raves aside, I think we have to accept that services at this time are not going to be as ‘good’ as they were. Some websites are infuriating to navigate....cancelling previous info typed in disappears if one is asked to fill a previous missed box. I’m sure a lot of websites are designed by nerds who have no idea what the end user goes through to navigate.

An update from Eurosender- ah the B word 😞

We regret to inform you about some unpleasant news at the moment.
We have been informed just today by our partner Dpd, that the pick-ups within the UK cannot be performed for us as we have a seat of the company in Luxembourg and unfortunately not in the UK at the moment. This means that unfortunately as a foreign company we cannot operate at the moment in the UK due to Brexit regulations.
