A post I never wanted to have to make.

Our tour van got broken into. Both my basses have been taken. Please keep a look out for the following.

Overwater 5 string jazz bass.
Red with tortoise shell red scratchplate which is very distinctive as I cut it (very badly) myself.
Maple neck, ebony board with block inlays.
Mono case.

Wood & Tronics 6 string fretless zoid
Very unusual body shape!!
Natural finish maple body with wenge centre.
Ash neck, lined ebony board.
Mono case.

If you see anything, please message me with any info.imageproxy.php?img=&key=d49e236f730b63a2

Hiring a local private detective is a way better option then go public on social media...

?

I'd love to hear your story.  My experience with private Richards is not good.  Worse than with the Police in fact.

Good luck OP.  Your photos are well worth circulating.  That distinctive scratchplate ought to help unless your basses have been nicked to order.

are you a private detective by any chance?

Of course not. 😄 I don't have experience (keep my fingers crossed I never will), but that's what I would do if my equipment got stolen. Private detectives (well, most of them) have their own sources and networks which often work better than police investigations. Going public makes things even hotter then they already are, so thieves more likely hide them away.

Does not compute.  Have you ever even spoken with one?  Maybe you should cut down on re-runs of The Rockford Files.
