it'd be a dull world if we all liked the same stuff don't you think?  .

Totally agree. I generally have pretty catholic tastes in music, but I couldn't see anything of merit in that. Seen simialr performances before, but generally from a gang of 16 year old on their first gig.

Unpolished is one thing, crap is another. (IMHO of course)

I thought she was a good showman/woman/non-binary entity with an energetic song.  The rest of the band looked like they were bricking it!  I suppose if they’ve gone from 0 to TV in a very short space of time, they would be unpolished and scared!

And at the end of the day, they are on TV and radio and I am not, so hats off to them!

So you don't need to be any good to give a live performance then?

The performance of the band was lackluster (apart from the singer), but they have a record out and are on telly and I’ve heard them on radio 6 twice today, so they must be doing something right 🤪

Lacklustre? They were on the level of a school band's second rehearsal - sloppy, out-of-time and inept. This sort of stuff can be great when played well, but this lot were pretty much incompetent.

What they're "doing right" is having marketing money behind them, which is likely to be a lot more to do with what the singer looks like than anything else.

I’m not that bothered about their music, but if they can make a living from it, I’m happy for them.  I’m just trying to be positive, man!

I've just watched it with the sound off and hummed a random melody and spat some random lyrics. Certainly puts a different slant on it.

Jools should get that American kid who fooled top venues that he was a major star with a record deal, an agent and a huge fan base. Thats how marketing works and he has got what he wants because it has given him exposure.

Cant be any worse than that shower of shite!

I decided to start watching it but first act was dreadful IMO and i turned over to something else.  Watched short clips of the rest of the show but not sure what they're trying to put across as a show.

Are people actually buying that stuff ?

I couldn't listen to most of it the exception being Elbow which was ok but not great either.

Michael Kiwanuka is definitely the highlight of the show for me, and ive never heard of him before.

Cant believe Jools had a say in any of the rap stuff. What a shower of s##t that stuff is.

Ive just turned over from watching the last concert Black Sabbeth did on Sky Arts. Geezer was playing his lovely looking Lakland PJ. Getting a bit of GAS for one of those.

It's a great concert. Spoiled slightly when he gets his Aston Villa Lakland out at the end....

A bloke in his underpants being encouraged by a Geezer who abandons his record player to join in the fun.

The TV audience loved 'em...I hated 'em and laughed my nads off...But, that's what it's all about, opinions... init...

WTF.

As to the studio audience loving them, it’s probably like the old TV game shows where a chap holds up an applause sign and they follow like sheep, Bah. 🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑
