Feeler for serious buyers.
This is my August 1960 Fender Jazz Bass. It is all genuine and in good order, Pots, pickups and solder joints are are undisturbed. Includes the original case in excellent condition.
I bought this from the US some years back and I can tell you its one of the best playing basses I have ever laid hands on.
She has been on flats all her life so the frets are in great condition.
She comes complete with her original ashtrays in excellent condition and a full set of mutes.
Sadly it is time to let her go. No trades, no kidneys, no children please.
The instrument is a real bomb, built very well and with a couple of upgrades to enhance its features.
The fretboard has been rectified to have perfect notes with a very low action and a bone nut was made.
Works made by Meridian Guitars, which is specialized in electric basses.
The instrument is original and sounds great.
It comes with soft case.
Price drop to 490 GBP
Cool and rare Gibson from the '70s. Apparently less then 1.000 were made, so there aren't too many of them around.
As you can see from the pictures, the bass has been used. It has a lot of user marks and finish checking all over. The bridge has been replaced (original one in poor condition is still there), as well as the truss rod cover. It should be mentioned that the plastic cover of the bridge pickup has broken at the point where the adjustment screw enters. Someone tried to melt it together again, but its still loose. I've set the hight, and left it this way.
Further this bass is in good functional condition. The neck is straight and all hardware and electronics function like they should.
This bass plays and sounds great. It has an open, clear and full punchy sound. Not what is usually expected from a Gibson. It's also a very light instrument; my kitchen scale says it's only 3,35 kilos!
The original hardcase is included.
Asking €1.100 (approx £975)
The bass is located in the Netherlands. Shipping is not a problem.
I can't believe I'm doing this, as I'm a fan of the RW series... but I need to thin the herd (I've just got too many).
FOR SALE ONLY is my superb Fender Roadworn Jazz bass. I believe it's one of the earlier models? please Correct me if I'm wrong... But I played a new one in a shop recently, in rather fetching Fiesta Red, and it didn't feel half as nice as this one.
Those in the know, will appreciate just how good these basses are. They feel "worn-in" and well played, and look and sound the business. Added to that, I weighed it on some accurate digital scales, and it's around 3.8 - 3.9 Kgs - which is light for a Jazz. Plus, I fitted a Kiogon Stacked control wiring loom and added a Brass earth strip, for that added touch of 60's vibe. I grew to really like the added option of a tone control on each pickup. The price includes the original control plate too - but I'm willing to drop my asking price a bit, if you only want the original control plate.
Collection only please, I'm in South Wales. I always prefer to let the buyer try before buying, and make sure everyone's happy, and I prefer not to trust couriering expensive instruments.
I'm happy to meet halfway somewhere - I've got a battery amp, so you can test the bass.
Absolutely no trades at all (unless you have a Wingbass) - as I say, I need to thin the herd, sadly
EDIT: It's currently fitted with Flatwound strings - "Flats on a Jazz?" I hear you say I can let you have a nearly new set of Rotosound rounds, if that's your preference - I fitted them for a couple of weeks and then tried flats on the bass, and grew to like it that way
I have for sale an 80s Fender Japan 75 reissue Jazz Bass in 3TS stamped as a JB75-80 with an E740531 serial number. This dates between 85-87 but looking online more likely to be an 86 from what I’ve seen. I can honestly say it’s the best condition 80s Fender bass I’ve ever seen. There are a couple of marks as shown but they are insignificant. The neck is in perfect condition as is the headstock with no signs of leaning or balancing at all. The body i believe is Ash and the finish on top is flawless. I have taken as many photos as I can to reflect the condition. The action is low and fast and the neck is quite shallow, nowhere near as deep as my 73 Jazz. It has the micro tilt neck, the Bullet Truss rod turns smoothly and shows no sign of wear, the frets are perfect, the binding on the rosewood neck is immaculate, the neck pocket is tight as anything. I have replaced the black original scratchplate with a fender original tortoishell one which just looks cooler to my eye, that cost 65 pounds itself. The original black one is included in the sale as is the Hiscox hardshell case. I’m asking for £1100 as I haven’t seen one as good as this. It is listed by a friend on Facebook as I don’t have an account if you see it elsewhere. Selling as I’m saving for a 60s PB so no trades thanks unless you have a Pre CBS Precision you want to get rid of 😂
Oh and it weighs 5.3kg as to be expected with these.
Happy to post, meet or open to someone to safely try it out.
