Thx It's very much down to personal taste, but I find the Aguilars with the Pope pre sound more modern and aggressive - brighter with more mid, and have noticeably more 'bite' than the Bartolini setup. The Aguilars and the Pope were in it when I bought the bass a few years ago, so the only comparison I can make is with the other 55-94 I'm selling, which is smoother and more polite in tone, although obviously it's a different bass, which could also be a factor.
