A beautiful bass in mint condition. Set up with brand new Swing Bass 105 strings. Comes in hard case. One of 1000 worldwide made, so a Collector’s piece.

Really cool 70s logo and great vibe. Comes with all the collections included in original sale.

I never really worked out what made this model different from a regular Mexican 70’s P?

Different decal, signature on back of headstock and 1-2-3-4 neckplate but nothing ‘sonically’ changed?

Come and play it and listen to it mate. You’ll know then. But, in the meantime, thanks for your constructive opinions.

So does that mean it is different from a standard Mexican 70’s P?

I don’t have one of those so wouldn’t be able to compare.

Standard mim 70s p bass? I know there is a standard 70s mim jazz, and limited edition 70s p, but where is this standard mim 70s p you speak of?

More info here. The fact there was only a limited run makes them rare. Otherwise they are pretty much  MIM Pups and hardware.

Came out a couple of years before the Dee Dee (which is why I wondered if the signature model was based on the regular one).

Olympic white, black guard, maple board, C profile neck, standard MIM pickups etc.

Board had black blocks though which always put me off - remedied on the Dee Dee :)

Have you played one or heard one boys? I’ve played and heard MIM standard basses and this is much better in every department. I suppose I’m going to say that, but anyone is welcome to come and put it to the test at my home. Can’t say fairer than that.

Agree Dave, like all of the MIM Sig basses (Duff, Nate etc) these Dee Dee Precisions are a real step up, a couple of differences in features from the US Precisions but no difference in build quality and playability from their more expensive cousins. Real quality basses these.
