Prompted by a recent re-watch of Quantum of Solace at the start of which Mrs.H remarked what utter garbage she thought the Another Way to Die was, I thought this might be a bit of fun.

So, regarding the title music only (not the film, the Bond, the girls etc etc), what's your fave?

I really like the theme tune to Casino Royale and Chris Cornell’s vocals on it are brilliant. However, the orchestration doesn’t make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up the way Barry’s strings on OHMS does.

The World Is Not Enough- with the blatant caveat of shoe horning a name drop in. My band were doing a day at studio 1 at AIR in  99, and whilst there was a break in proceedings as the singer and drummer went to get some food. I was chatting to the producer when David Arnold walks in, says hi to the producer and asks if we wanted to hear the new bond theme as ‘nobody else has.' We didn't take much encouragement and sat there listening to the song on the enormous monitoring system grinning from ear to ear. Red letter day and then some.

I knew if I missed that off someone would be along forthwith. Standby, I shall add it for you.

Cheers.

I've already voted for OHMSS though.  I'll stick on that.  I think the film as a whole was the most engaging of the series for me.

Not only is The Man with the Golden Gun by far the funkiest Bond song, I believe it's also the only one that includes key plot elements in the lyrics.

If you listen to the opening song, you pretty much know all you need to know about the villainous Scaramanga's backstory before the film even properly starts.

Having performed a number of Bond themes (main theme tune, Nobody Does It Better, Skyfall, We Have All The Time In The World), I love Bond tunes and my favourite varies with my mood. Fav slow one is "You Only Live Twice" and fav fast one is "Man With The Golden Gun".

I would love to be able to perform "Man With The Golden Gun" but the intro is exceedingly difficult for the trumpet players - its a Bm9 chord, so that means someone has to squeak out a D# (C# on concert pitch) in the altissimo register, and with the required punchy rhythm. So that's on hold, indefinitely.

"We Have All The Time In The World" is exceedingly boring to play, and is make-or-break depending on the quality of the male lead singer.

"Nobody Does It Better" kinda needs the piano at the start but once that's sorted, is a brilliant song which is quite approachable too.

The Specials have covered that on their new album. In fairness, Terry Hall does a reasonable job of it.
