I like the little box on the back to hide unwanted plectrums in.

The ashtray you mean?

It's where I store the tears of all those who've taken the P, after I play the bass to them as a punishment.

Long ago I shared a flat with (among others) a chap who worked in a computer shop.

He told the story of the BBC computer that came in for a service full of dog ends. The owner thought the cartridge slot was an ashtray.

1 - ALL plectrumses are unwanted in Chez Teebs;

2 - Twerp! >:(

Possibly plectrums stuffed in there contribute to resonance within the wood ? Long as it’s the right wood and the right kind of plectrum and the right orientation of course 🍿

At this point, just pondering the possibility of getting Ryanair in to East Midlands and maybe staying in Derby or Nottingham for a few days. A Ryanair seat for a gig bag can be literally cheaper than the baggage charges on other airlines, assuming it's off-season. I would bring my modded HB MP-4 Enhanced (ClonedBerg) and a cable, that would be about it.

how does it work with VAT and stuff? Obv if I wanted to buy a bass from Ireland I now have to pay VAT.... how does it work if you visit with something?

I saw the list of what @Frank Blank was bringing and was releaved he had kept the Rob allens and got over his brief ACG phase.
I thought I was quite settled with gear, and I brought 4-5 basses and my amp to the last one. Bit of a surprise to find that of  all that only one bass still remains.

oh and my cable is the same.

I have kept them although they might not make the cut once the Jabba basses land.

I guess you would need a carnet to declare what you bring into the country and you show the same when you leave. If you haven't got the same items on exit then you would be charged the import tax. Someone here will have toured internationally outside of the EU and know the rules.

I seem to remember an old Top Gear special where they get stuck at some African border because one of the cameras wasn't the same as on the paperwork. ☹
