What are the pickups ?

Is it a Cataldo neck with a Fender headstock and decal ?

Hi

I've emailed the builder in the US to get the exact specs and I'll let you know as soon as I've had a response. With regard to the neck, these are built as replicas of the basses made for John Entwistle by Peter Cook in the 70's and feature thunderbird bodies with fender style necks.

It's an Allparts neck. Just took it off to check.

After speaking to the builder last night I now know that it's one of the earlier builds and has Seymour Duncan pickups fitted and not Thunderbuckers. I've dropped the price to reflect this.

I'll leave it up here but if there isn't much interest I'll just swap the neck for a modern C Mex neck I have here and keep it.

Hmm, I know I shouldn't, but if my Orange cabs go I may well be in touch.

I had a white one same as this but jazz dimension neck. Fabulous sound!

Lovely. Can't help thinking it needs an unlined ebony fretless neck :)

My original idea was a Status graphite neck. Jazz width. The white with the black neck+ humbuckers=low slung rock n roll

This looks a lot like my old one - I think I sold it to you? If it is the one I'm sure it had a P neck.

For sale is my Gould stormbird.
There's a couple of dings here and there but good condition otherwise, working as it should.
I'm only selling as I need funds to cover  an unexpected bill and a repair on a broken headstock.
      Based in Leeds, collection preferred.
      Any questions just ask

Some "asset restructuring" going on at Howdenspur Towers...I have for sale a Gibson Thunderbird in Vintage Sunburst and dating from 2010. Bought this from DaytonaRik of this very parish and it's a beaut. It is in generally good condition, it has a couple of chips in the finish around the mid strap button and where the wings meet the neck with a several other lesser dings which I've tried to capture in the photos. Nothing serious, just cosmetic. It weighs a mere 3.9kg or 8.6lbs and comes with the original plush hard case. No neck dive here I'm pleased to say!
I'd prefer not to post this, but happy to have buyer collect (with the lure of drinks, biscuits and maybe even cake) or can meet up somewhere convenient. I live just off J37 of the M62 and work in York.
      Thanks for looking!

Got this recently, but unfortunately I need to raise fund - so this awesome bass is now for sale.
Like new Mike Lull non -reverse thunderbird NRT5 custom.  A piece of art, pure vintage sound.  Very lightweight under 4kg.  Custom 34" scale.  With original hard case.
In terms of ergonomics, the Thunderbird is similar to other Lull - it feels nicely balance and the design and workmanship are superb.
In terms of tone, the pickups give you that awesome and iconic Thunderbird sound. In don't have my own soundclips but the reverse Thunderbird uses the same pickups as Lull's other Thunderbird basses:

Of course the Mike Lull made the bass to sound as close to the original Gibson Thunderbird ...

...but without the neck dive which the original Thunderbirds are known to have. You can read more about the non-reversed Thunderbirds on the link below:

      I'm  based in London.
