Now £2000 shipped in the UK

Here we have an absolutely mint condition bass from Franz Bass Guitars in Germany, commissioned by me in May last year.

The Merak body shape is Xaver's take on the classic Fender J design.  You can see my BC build thread here, and the spec is as follows:

  • 2-pc. Alder body
  • 2-pc chestnut top (from a tree in my parent's garden!)
  • 3-pc. Maple neck (bolt on)
  • Maple fretboard, 24 frets
  • Maple headstock
  • 34" scale
  • 2x Delano JC-PC pickups
  • Glockenklang active/passive 2-Band electronics
  • ETS 3D Tuning Fork string through bridge
  • 19mm String Spacing
  • Black Gotoh tuners
  • Dunlop straplocks
  • Black Hardware
  • Finish: honey satin laquer on body, oil/wax on back of neck

The bass is superb in every way.  It's super light at 8lbs 1oz/3.65kg and is really resonant.  The action is very low and due to the oil/wax finish the thin neck is very fast.  It's strung with fresh La Bella pure nickel rounds.

The bass is absolutely mint apart from a filing nick in the zero fret under the G string, but as the string sits on it rather than in it there is no issue with contact or action.

I received the bass in December and it's not been out of the house since I got it.  The only reason I'm selling is I am a confirmed 5 stringer nowadays.  Just over £2500 new, you can have it for £2000 including UK insured shipping, so a 20% saving on new.
