Here is my SC deluxe. It's an early one, serial number 87SC4596 which dates it to 1987 which fits with the 'made in West Germany' schaller machine heads.

In the interests of full disclosure, there are a few minor dinks on it, but nothing too bad.

I've tried to capture these in the photos. If you want more pics- let me know.

It's a magnificent bass. The electrics all work as they should, the truss rods are fine, the action is low, the neck slim and fast. I truly do not want to sell this, but I've been offered a 20th anniversary model and the powers that be have firmly told me it's one in, one out, or else.

It is made I believe, of walnut facings over a mahogany core with maple laminations. The neck is maple & purpleheart. The woodwork is astonishing.IMG_0888.thumb.jpg.fe7d0907ea6c6b97a2d5e0193fcffe74.jpgIMG_0889.thumb.jpg.7901a41db8798847ca322b3778db49eb.jpgIMG_0890.thumb.jpg.11d8a230405c695657fb1b8a8aefb525.jpgIMG_0891.thumb.jpg.be6a68a3f492245017b9b1ef67b8e5f8.jpgIMG_0885.thumb.jpg.08a01ceda958df72766f00327f27cecc.jpgIMG_0886.thumb.jpg.6f3e9c3f1f3b04377e8da12e13adf392.jpgIMG_0887.thumb.jpg.83ecbf59884a517d665c372a6dd4160e.jpgIMG_0883.thumb.jpg.52d020ad93789af81c785205b7e41e1a.jpgIMG_0881.thumb.jpg.84ca9f4cbe94c5897e42f66bce34c675.jpgIMG_0880.thumb.jpg.d6be7fc8d2c60df5326ad7f0d198f341.jpgIMG_0879.thumb.jpg.3c3c0e678202ed636b6aaa2af0ce9d46.jpgIMG_0884.thumb.jpg.99a70b3ffbc16bf3e9da351c60e14037.jpgIMG_0882.thumb.jpg.01da8fa830e31164c6c3c5e6a5619525.jpgIMG_0877.thumb.jpg.fe0811fae6121831e19aa70dc9ad299a.jpgIMG_0878.thumb.jpg.2bbf4fe71833b7e7cfd5f93d8eaa7617.jpg

I'm happy to courier at your expense. I'd be happier if you tried it before buying. I'm in Bury St Edmunds most of the time. London at least once a week and Wales periodically.

Comes with a fitted hardcase-  American, by 'The Modern Case Company'. Can't say I've ever heard of them, but it's a fine case.

In terms of cash. I'm happy to consider offers, but it is what it is and I'm not going to bend much on the price.

Oooohhh...these appear very rarely! There aren’t many of them and owners rarely wish to part. A lovely example too (and at a great price IMO - check out current prices - even discounted at Bass Central, there’s going to be no change out of about £9k). Tone and playability is usually outrageous too. Boiler failure and a massive tax bill keeps me out on this one... I think...

Just for info, the knobs look non-original?

@three You can't play music with a boiler and not paying massive tax bills is a rock'n'roll attitude. So you really have no excuses for not buying it. 🤣

GLWTS for this very nice bass, but not for me as it would look like I'm playing a banjo. 😉

I'm not sure about the knobs tbh...They look quite proper, but I guess they might have been replaced at some point?  I think you should just buy it really, a bit of incendiary Clarkesque fretw**nking. That'll keep you warm...Who needs a boiler?...;0)

MUSTARD!

This looks similar to the one I used to own (could possibly be?) did you purchase this off Basschat by any chance?

sit back take a sharp intake of breath!

.....Wish I'd not parted with mine!

BUMP!

I purchased it off a chap who bought it off a chap in Spain I think. The marks on the side are ripples in the finish- the usual wear and tear stuff you get on the lower bouts of guitars after many years. The white marks are reflections- not white paint!

It's an interesting one that...I'm 6'3" and it works because the neck is so long. Tiny body though...

That is a beauty I just love those basses. I have one and have recently had a chat with Mica at alembic and am about to order the new wiring harness to convert the electronics from signature to anniversary but without the pickup and mono stereo switches since the existing position of the controls make putting those items in the traditional location difficult.  I wish mine had the neck pickup positioned right on the truss rod cover as yours, as having played another like that it makes the bottom end so much thicker and yummy without losing the crisp sparkle in the tone!!!!

All the best with the sale.
