For sale is a used Dingwall Super P5 in very good condition.

This has seen mostly home use, and the only blemish is on the bottom side of the bass, which is barely noticeable thanks to the lovely wood grain of the swamp ash body. It has a Pau Ferro fingerboard.

Extremely light, this hass has that great P-bass tone couple with the performance and clarity you can expect from a Dingwall.

The bass comes with a Dingwall Levy's Gigbag, a Dingwall Leather strap, and a set of Italian handmade Sansone Strings made specifically for the Super 5.

Collection in London only, please - I can meet almost anywhere in London :)

I’m assuming this is passive?

Yes - it has the passive Tone Fusion knob - passive tone control on one side and passive mid-cut on the other

Have you been looking for an 'as new' Dingwall NG2 but for at least a couple of hundred pounds less than shop price?! Then your prayers have been answered....!

I only bought this a matter of months ago and I'll be very sorry to see it go as everyone else seems to LOVE it.... but I just keep returning to my trusty Spectors.... so, as a result, is surplus to requirements.
      The Spec:
      Body: Alder
Neck: 5-piece Maple (Medium thin C shape)
Fingerboard: Maple with 'fanned fret' system.
Frets: 18% hard nickel silver 'banjo' size fretwire for a more woody, less metallic tone, smoother glissandos and a faster feel.
      Nut: 42mm
Pickups: Dingwall FD- 3N which feature Neodymium magnets offering high output and a smooth but aggressive tone.
Electronics: 3-band Darkglass active pre-amp (low, lo-mid & hi-mid) with an Active/Passive toggle switch. Master Volume & 4 position Rotary pickup selector offering: 1. Bridge soloed, 2. Bridge/Neck in parallel, 3. Bridge/Neck in series, 4. Neck soloed.
Hardware: Smoked chrome. Custom bridge/saddle system for solid performance and great tone featuring a custom riser system to provide increased range of action adjustability. Offset positioning to improve tension across the strings and a more piano-like low end.
Colour/Finish: Mopar Purple Metallic (polyester base topped with polyurethane colour & top coats)
      Pickguard: Carbon Fibre print

Condition is literally 'as new/shop'. Any perceived marks in photos are reflections etc. I haven't played it outside the house and it has barely been played even inside!
Check out the numerous reviews and YouTube demos etc - this bass really is a MONSTER!!

As such, I'm looking for a VERY fair *SOLD* cash/bank transfer or possibly Paypal (buyer pays fees). I would really prefer a UK sale but I may ship to Europe.
Bass can be collected from Guildford area, we can meet in the SE area for petrol/train cost or it can be couriered for approx £40 (tbc). NO trades wanted (unless you have a rare Spector X shape)

Please see my extensive positive feedback (link in signature below) for assurance of a clean, honest, trouble free transaction.

Thinning down the herd, so selling the basses I don't use, especially non 6 strings basses.

FOR SALE OR (PARTIAL) TRADE BASED ON THE NEW RETAIL PRICE ($9000 USD) :

Superb looking, playing and sounding 33" JP BASSES Plume Redwood 5 with high grade woods.
A bass in the league of Fodera and the likes. A real high end rare and collectable bass as Jean-Philippe FERREIRA (owner of JP BASSES) sold the rights to Pete SKJOLD who named these the Denoncourt series (see link below).

      The specifications :
Body : chambered 2 pieces high grade highly flamed maple
Top and back : 2 pieces exhibition grade holographic curly redwood with 2 veneers of ebony
Neck : 3 pieces bolt-on high grade padauk and ebony center with 2 veneers of maple with patented high grade Macassar ebony tone transmission heel plate and matched top heel exhibition grade holographic curly redwood
Fretboard : thick flat radius high grade Macassar ebony with side dots only
Headstock : angled with matched exhibition grade holographic curly redwood and JP inlay
      Tuners : 2 + 3 Gotoh Res-O-Lite 350
Frets : 25 in stainless steel (24 + zero fret)
Truss rod : 1 fully working
      Bridge : ETS Transmission Bridge
Pickups : 2 JP BASSES/Kent Armstrong  fitted in epoxy adjustable ramp
Preamp : Audere 3ZB1 2 bands with volume, Dingwall rotary switch for the pickups selection (bridge, series, parallel, neck), bass, treble with the 3 ways Z switch plus internal gain and capacitance trimmers (left row only working because of the Dingwall rotary switch) without forgetting the LED battery status. This preamp can be converted into a 4 bands by simply soldering 2 more 100 K Ohms pots. So as it is right now, you have 12 totally different sounds from deep bass to crystal clear tone !!!
Strings spacing at bridge : 18,5 mm (adjustable)
Strings spacing at the zero fret (high grade Macassar ebony nut) : 9,5 mm
Action at 12th fret : from 1,5 mm under the G to 2 mm under the B
      Scale : 33 inches
      Finish : oiled
Hardware : black (comes with new Harley Benton Strap Security Locks)
Weight : 4,6 kilos (perfectly balanced)
Case : non original unbranded hard case
Year : 2005 (one of the last ever made by JP BASSES)
      Strings : D'Addario Nickel EXL 170-5 (45-130)
Todays price for a similar bass with all the options by SKJOLD (download the price list and you'll be amazed) : at least $9000 USD or around £7000 GBP !
The bass has been fully set up and everything checked.
      Non smoking environment, as usual.

Asking price is £2250 GBP (around one third of a newly made by SKJOLD and half the price in 2005 when it was made by JP BASSES), which is a steal for such a rare bass, but I want it to find a good home as I only play 6 strings basses and mainly fretless.

Look at the pictures to see the real condition (under different lights to try to capture the real beauty of the woods), which show some wear, a few little knocks, some belt scratches at the back and two wood pieces at the rear of the neck where there were two knots (instead of glue mixed with wood dust)... I've pictured everything as usual, but if you want more pictures, just ask.

I've had my head turned by another, and this isn't getting any use at the minute so it's time for it to move to new premises...
While a beautiful playing bass, this one definitely sits in the "well used" category! There are multiple dings all over the body (not as many scratches oddly - any there are would certainly polish out), what look like a few finish flaws on the front of the body (finish has sunk into the alder "knots", above and below the pickups) and there is some loss of finish around the rear strap button down to what looks like damage due to a drop/fall. There's also string wear to the pickup covers, wear to the tuning pegs and it could benefit from a fret dress. Also the neck lamination joints can be felt on the back of the neck (no structural issues at all) and the side dots are a TINY bit proud on the top of the neck. None of this damage/wear effects playability.
The bass is still wearing the strings from the previous owner which aren't quite long enough (silks on the wrong side of the nut on the E string) but I'm including a set of Kalium low F tuning strings I bought from Dood earlier in the year (perfect for B tuning), and a set of custom ordered Newtone Diamond 4 string multi-scale strings I ordered when I felt like getting my Devin Townsend on and tuning GCGC (60 - 150, these may or may not be useful...) - both sets unused and still in original packaging. Comes with an excellent Dingwall branded Levy's gig bag and Dingwall toolkit.
I've priced the bass low (as low or lower than any used Dingwall import basses I can recall) to take into account any work the new owner MAY wish to carry out, none of which is absolutely necessary. Trade-wise I'd be interested in a Fender Roadworn Precision (preferably sunburst), Classic 50's or other 50's/60's spec P basses, a Lakland Hollowbody, anything ACG with cash either way.
*EDIT: Given condition of this bass I'll consider close offers from the off*
*EDIT 2: Much better pictures added - these are much more representative of the colour of the bass*
