Tune TWXT-6  Fretted 6 String with Tremolo Bar -

Withdrawn from sale.

Bass is in good condition but has some marks and signs of wear which I've tried to show in the pictures.

Includes strap. I will include an old hard case (not great condition).

Collection from Sheffield or I can arrange to meet you halfway to handover the bass.

I will consider posting but would prefer not to due to the value of this bass.

The pickups and electronics were fitted for me by Martin Peterson at the Gallery (Seibass).

Very nice bass indeed, but if it's a Japanese model, which surely is, it's a TWXT-6 model : http://www.cc.rim.or.jp/~tune/tune/twxt/twxt.html

Read this notice, since there are two different Tune companies, a Korean one and the original Japanese one ; the Korean one being somehow illegal : http://www.cc.rim.or.jp/~tune/basic/important/important.html

In fact, the Korean company "acquired" the license after the original Tune Kobe factory was destroyed by the 1995 earthquake, but "forgot" to pay for this...

Also, yours is not an early 90's model as they had no serial numbers, reversed mounted Gotoh (Tune branded) tuners and the "Tune Guitar Technology Made in Japan" logo "stamped" under the lacquer at the back of the neck (see pictures).

I never heard of any Korean TWXT. The tremolo is only made by Tune Japan.

So this one is 99% sure a Japanese model.

The body wood facing is in fact walnut (WN), HK being the finish code in Japanese (walnut is kurumi in Japanese, so you have the "k"). The core of the body is maple.

Hi Rolf,

I've been investigating overseas shipping and I'm struggling to find any carriers who will offer a fully insured service. Hence I'm not going to sell abroad at this time.

Apologies for the delayed reply and thanks for your interest.

@Jono Myself and Tony have sent probably around 20 basses to each other via Eurosender, all fully insured. One bass did suffer damage but the insurance paid out so I would agree with Tony and recommend Eurosender. It costs around €40 to send a bass in a hardcase to Europe insured for up to €2000.

  • Thanks 1
