Ampeg SVT from 1972  / "blueline" / most sough-after version / 220-240V

Just back from tech: cleaning, solder check-up; NOS Svetlana 6550"C" power tubes (few hours on them), all big power electrolytic capacitors replaced (Sprague/Mercury), preamp tubes: new/NOS, new cooling fan; This one is almost 50 years old but sounds like new and will serve you fine another years. I am a long-time Ampeg collector. Trades only for vintage Orange Matamp 200 or Masterbuilt CS P-basses.

Free EU mainland/UK shipping (others, please ask)

Thanks in advance for your understanding and cooperation.

Should I edit the ad?

No need, lad, folks is supposed to know that replies with offers or trades are verboten in Sales ads. If not, they are invited to read though the Terms & Conditions (T & C...) linked below. Carry on, and Good Luck With The Sale (or trade...).

My apologies.

I knew I’d replied! Good news though, I’m not losing the plot.

Though for the record I wasn’t making an offer or trade. Just making the vendor aware that I have the rare amp he’s hunting.

I will pm him.

Best regards.

Dave.

How different does a blue line sound compared to a 90s SVT classic? How is the volume o the preamp controlled when there is only one volume knob?

Vintage SVT produced from 1969 to 1986 is controlled only by 1 Volume pot (one for each channel). It does not have "GAIN" and "MASTER VOL" separately. Sound is AWESOME, for me the best you can have from a bass tube amp ever (B15 is another thing to consider). Svt Classic sounds a bit modern, a bit more mellow and less raw/gritty/"in your face" than vintage SVT. SVT2 "non pro" model sounds somewhere in between those two.

This '72 was sold few days ago, but I have another '74 one on other ad.
