Best Bass Amp Settings For Slap

Quite a canny little video - but It's a shame that so many people equate the "slap tone" with heavily scooped mids. It doesn't have to be like that, and if done carelessly can cause the bass to disappear in a mix. A good reference point would be Freddie Washington's masterful line in Forget me nots, but you knew that!

For sure! This was a hard one to balance between explaining something that is common and sought after (scooped mid sound) and trying to give an alternative (added mids at the end of the vid) as you mentioned.

I agree that slap tones often aren't seen as being diverse as they are in reality. Forget me nots is great proof of that!
