Would be great for a new version of "Who wants to be a millionaire" but with 80 answer categories 😀

Speaking of WWTBAM, I still like this version:

Sure, feel free to listen to EDM. Still hope rock will have a (mainstream) comeback. Maybe this pandemic just makes me nostalgic and I just want it to be 1991 all over again 😞

I don't listen to any type of dance music, but I don't care if other people do. I don't really care what is in the mainstream, in fact I don't really know, i don't listen to radio stations often (if I do it is radio 6, which doesn't seem over dancy).

I thought music had already gone pretty bad by 91!

91/92 - Some of my favs:

1. AIC - Dirt

2. Pearl Jam - Ten

3. Temple of the Dog - Temple of the Dog

4. STP - Core

5. Soundgarden - Badmotorfinger

6. Tool - Opiate

7. RATM - RATM

8. Nirvana - Nevermind

9. Primal Scream – Screamadelica

10. The Brand New Heavies - The Brand New Heavies

and, of course, as this list goes to 11

11. Spinal Tap - Break Like the Wind 😎

Ah, I said 91, now you are sneaking in 92 so you can get tool and RATM in there!

but still don't understand why rock music has to be mainstream before you listen to it? 😀

I know, I know, it was a bit sneaky 😁 91 had some great albums but I had to smuggle AIC, Tool and RATM in. I was even considering smuggling in 93 to feature Tool's Undertow.

I just want rock music to reach the mainstream again, so that more people become aware of it and get interested in it and play it too. Thinking of it, however, it may be an old school, pre- Internet, pre-social media, pre-streaming way of thinking. I guess I am just getting old, nostalgic and Covid-cabin fever ridden 🥴 Let's just do what Stuart Spector told me when I met him once at a LBGS: "Play music and bring joy to the people". Still remember that!

Ok, back to Spector:

Early Christmas present from BD. Just saw on BD' FB page that Mark got hold of the last two Spector Euro 77 LE 😀

I have the 77 myself and I can tell you that this LE is amazing, super nice and thin neck, killer sound  (P bass on steroids) and for a great price. Check it out here:

I definitely think that Spector should release an Alexis Sklarevski model, for all he has done for their brand. His old slap bass video/programme remains extremely detailed and comprehensive and really pushes the technique in some interesting ways. In the 80's, when it was released, most slap instruction was very basic - you had guys like Louis Johnson and Larry Graham basically slapping the root and popping the octave on the beat and that was it. Regardless of whether or not you think there is any merit slap bass instruction, the course was a decent effort.

I always remembered that lovely Spector that Alexis played, it just looked and sounded great. It's a shame that you can't get the '77 models in an oil finish with a singlecoil at the bridge.

Cheers. I have to admit that I've never heard of Alexis Sklarevski. However, he clearly has an excellent taste in basses (not so much in spectacles though ;- ) I'll check him out!

The 77 indeed only has one split single coil (as it is a homage to the first NS-1 from 77) but the Euro 79 LE has an additional single coil in the bridge position (as it is a homage to the first NS-2, launched in 79). I've never played a 79 but I am sure it is as great if not even better than the 77!

On the right. Where are these from?

They were the prototypes for the Rudy Sarzo sig model.

The right is a mock up done to change the weird lower horn...

A belated Happy New Year to all Spector fans!

Looks like the low end lobster got his claw on the brand new NS Pulse. Judging from his reactions; however, he does not seem to be overly impressed by it (especially when you compare it to his reactions in some other videos, e.g., the one in which he is checking out the EBMM Cutlass).

I wouldn't read too much into his reaction. As much as he is trying to be neutral, you just have to look at his recent videos and his wall of basses to know he is a huge EB Fanboy and Spectors are very different to EBs.

Good point. I like this guy (except for the claw gimmick) but I don't understand his business model. How can he have so many basses? Has he won the lottery? Does he have a shop? I can see that he has a reverb shop but without any listings. Does EBMM (and/or other companies) pay him? I also want to have so many basses 😁
