Indeed... But people tend to forget about what simplicity can be..... Always looking for the most unique piece of wood .... But they're all unique... That is beautiful.

After this philosophical parenthese, tomorrow I will glue the second wing and the carving work will begin....

Gluing in the living room because of very low temperatures...

Hidden neck thru is really not the easiest building method. Every build is a lesson.

Thanks guys! Much appreciated.

@Andyjr1515 not so short for me as I go directly to grit 180 from rasp it's long as ****. Went to bed @3.30am this morning....

Thing is, I carve bodies only with my eyes and my feelings. I don't draw anything before. I just look for nice lines while carving. Make it more "alive" IMHO...

A. I love to see construction when routing. I can check the gluing.

B. I hate to rout.

C. I have a gap between the two tops

D. It's harder than you may think to align two angles pickups.

E. I make the neck one closer to the neck (like 8mm) to get a smoother neck sound.

@BassTool thanks ! (To the wood :) )

As you maybe seen, I screwed up the strings stoptails in the maple. I know I'm never satisfied with my work but this.... Too much. So I find a elegant solution (will match the Amaranth Pu covers)

It's not glued up yet, but I'll pay more attention this time.

Mock-up... Waiting pup's and stuff.

So far it's playable. Relief.

There is some playability issues. Stressed.

I let the strings play with the wood for a while, then we'll see.

Gorgeous...I think that the rosewood tailpiece actually looks great - a happy accident rather than design but I think that it looks really good!

This is Amaranth... But thanks!

All done. Waiting pickups. In this case it will be Delano because , you know why.

Meanwhile I managed to find a beautiful piece of Doussié (real name of Afzelia), and this week I will buy 8 planks of Doussié I found for 150£....

Warwick inspiration on the go ?

Not really my friend, but Afzelia is easy to find here^^ So I had this free "little" piece…. And I like to explore all possibilities :) Next one will be an Amani again, but fretted with a proper 18mm string spacing. I'm thinking about a 6 string too ;)

And this is how it ends for now, waiting money to buy Nordstrand big blades and make Amaranth covers.

I tried it, I found the sound simply untasty, ungrowly and deeply unsatisfying.
