FS/FT: Fender AVRI '57 Precision - TRADED!
£1000

After several years being P-less, early this year I needed a more classical sounding bass for a covers project. Ultimately I ended up trading basses with the rather wonderful Misowaki and got his '57 Precision.

A great example of an AVRI if ever there was one.

Since buying it I upgraded the pickup to a '62 Custom shop and added an Emerson wiring loom (oil cap) and Hipshot Classic bridge (original bridge included in the sale). It is now the mother of all AVRI P's.

Full disclosure, when taking off the bridgecover I noticed the paint had chipped, so there is a 3x3mm chip around the screw. More mojo :)

For the rest it is in the exact shape as the original pics in the thread below.

I recently completed the conversion/mod of on of my Bogart Blackstones, added 2 Thunderbucker 66 pickups (see build thread if you are so inclined). That thing sounds incredible and the front pickup gives me a wonderful Precision tone, and as a self-confessed Bogart fanboy I have now decided I no longer need the P for my vintage tones, opening the door for more graphite or more cabs/amps in my life (or more money :) ).

So ideally am looking to do a trade against something with a graphite neck, Mesa bass gear, Bergantino, TKS, Barefaced, perhaps another fretless .... another Bogart?? Well maybe 3 is enough.

Anyway, open to trade offers.

Also happy to sell outright. Price excludes shipping in a Hiscox case (original Fender one was not included when I got it), all the AVRI case candy is included (ashtrays/strap/lead etc).

I have added more pics of the current setup.

Hi there. The action on the pics looks very high, have you had it lower? Any fret work needed?

Action was lowered considerably when I set it up to suit me (after I got it), no fretwork needed. BTW if you think that action is high, check out John Pattituci’s or Macca’s action, some people just prefer it.
