- Sandberg VS4

- Sandberg VT4

- Mayones Jabba V

- Shuker Custom J

I keep going hot and cold as to whether I should sell the Mayones but having a fiver in the arsenal is useful.

The VS4 is a bit surplus to requirements but it plays beautifully with Low Tension Flats and sounds great with the Nordstrand NP4v pup.

A mere three - a MIJ Mustang, a P bass, and a Yamaha BB bass for everything else.

Any more makes me feel indulgent, and any fewer makes me feel vulnerable.

I've tinkered with a five string recently but our love affair didn't last.

I've lost all restraint and self-control this year and find I now have 11.  Although, tbf, one is for sale.

Maroos-chick Jake 5, Peavey Fury 5

Squier JV Precision, Gibson Thunderbird, Gibson LP Jnr DC, Aria Pro II CSB 'Black n Gold',  Hondo Alien, Danelectro '56, Hofner Ignition Club*, 'Sprackenbacker' Faker, 'Honcore' Frankenstein - which I have to admit is as eclectic mix of basses as has ever graced chez Sprackers and remarkably Fender light.

Plus an electro-acoustic and a Stagg EUB, but they don't count, do they.

And an electric and an acoustic guitar.

*for sale at a knock down, bargain price :)

I'm on 4 now... USA Stingray, Fender MIJ P, Kramer 5 string Fretless, Aria Pro II SB Elite-I. The Aria is a restoration project that may end up as a Fretless. Depending how that goes it could stay or be sold. I'm toying with selling the P too as I am missing having a jazz bass around and I can't see the P getting much action at all if I had a stingray, a jazz and a Fretless. The Kramer can never leave me, partly cos it's worth bog all but also because it was my 18th birthday present. 

When I read about other people's collections I don't feel the slightest bit of envy. In fact, it kinda gives me a weird kick to just sort my collection out to have just enough to cover every realistic scenario I find myself it: the Stingray plus the 1% of gigs that don't need a Stingray.

home made 60s stack knob jazz In white nitro with tort (relicing nicely) - see My build thread 

Vintage est96a stingray copy - was yellow now more toffee coloured / translucent
