Hardwood grows so slow that a 50 year old tree wouldn't be big enough to build a bass from. Some Oak trees don't start having acorns until they're 50 years old.

Nice thought though.

Bought my 12 string with money I was given for my 21st in 1968, I always think of it in that way, so this suggestion should work....

Hi Tom,

I somehow made it to 60 last month, and considered buying a YOB bass as a special treat. Looking around at what was available from 1958 I decided that a better option was to commission our own AndyJr1515 to build me one.

It looks like it's going to come in at about 6 and a half pounds in weight, Andy being a master at making light instruments.

I like the idea of having one built with my birthdate as the serial number

I started playing bass when my arthur ritis started in 2010..... that's an easy one. :D
