A friend of mine has always wanted to form a mariachi band covering rock bands called Juan Jovi!  I'd pay to see that, I really would!

A friend of mine's done something similar, but they're called Juan Direction... you can imagine!

There's a very good Hungarian Iron Maiden tribute band called "Iron Maidnem".

Various punnery involved, as "majdnem" means "almost" in Hungarian, and "nem" means "no".

They go the absolute hog, too, with their own Eddie and everything.

there's a Brazilian all female Iron Maiden tribute band, called Iron Maidens.

Musically they are absolutely spot on. \m/

We saw one a few years back called Oasish, they had the whole Schtick down perfect, muddy wall of sound, no charisma between them, gormless looking front man..they were spot on!  😁

They’re still going ... we’ve done gigs with them 😁

There must be at least a dozen Oasis tributes out there though.

Thought they were Californian? I read a story once about some of Iron Maiden going to see them and discussing whether they'd be willing to have physical relations with "themselves". :)

I stand corrected. The band I've seen are The Iron Ladies, not as previously alluded to The Iron Maidens.

For avoidance of doubt this is who I mean:

Off top of my head we've played with at least three: Noasis, Oasish, and Definitely Oasis. My favourite part of doing tribute festivals is checking out band names tbh: laziest was a tie between The Killerz and Antarctic Monkeys and my favourite was probably Illegal Eagles.

Nita Strauss (Ibanez endorsee and member of Alice Cooper's band) was once a member of The Iron Maidens

Red Hot Chilli Pipers

Elvis Herselvis

Not a band, but gotta love the red-and-white-branded Ken’s Fried Chicken in Southsea.

I saw a share by APILN on Facebook of a woman demanding a refund after she'd booked for Red Hot Chilli Piper's gig but had expected the 'real' thing.

Fair enough, they played in Mo's Bar in Springfield.
