There's an ABCD  trib act.  And a Bon Jovial

Dread Zeppelin are real as stated earlier and i have their first album, and it's a killer. If you haven't seen or heard them,  the singer , Tortelvis , dresses and sings like... well , you know.

They cover mostly LZ tracks but done reggae style.  Weird and brillliant

This cracks me up..

I need to dig my copy of that out - It's in a crate in the cellar somewhere with the rest of my more dubious musical decisions. I do love the mash-up opener though -  'Heartbreaker Hotel'.

Anyone seen the Sex Pis*ed Dolls?

Yes, we supported them at the Thekla in Brizzle a couple of months back. They were fantastic. (Playing at the Thekla was a tick off the bucket list too :D )

EDIT: here's a dreadful pic I took from our privileged AAA position.

Wasn't there an Oasis tribute band called No Way Sis...

I always liked that one.

Another fave was a cover band I saw advertised called By Jovi.

And I always thought that "Magic - A Kind of Queen" was rather elegant!

We saw one a few years back called Oasish, they had the whole Schtick down perfect, muddy wall of sound, no charisma between them, gormless looking front man..they were spot on!  😁

Me love the Thekla - finally got to play there last year with the Lancashire Hotpots...

Back OT - I briefly played in a band doing Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan covers. We were called Bobby Cash.

In the West Midlands there are a couple of Led Zep tribute bands, one is called Fred Zeppelin, and the other band who is fronted by a female vocalist is called Miss-Led.

Not a funny name but i've seen a Whole Lotta Led ansd they were  sheer class.

There's also a great femal LZ trib called  Zepparella - who are damn good too

There used to be one around here called Stairway Denied.

Silvie and I saw Zepparella live in Brooklyn a couple of years ago. The club was basically a slightly bigger version of The Marquee set in the centre center of Hipster Paradise.

They were really very good indeed. They absolutely nailed the songs, and the musicianship was just top-knotch throughout.

We'd see them again in a flash if the opportunity arose.

My mate is trying to get me up to Leeds to see Motorheadache in a few months. I was in an acoustic duo called "Not the Hoople" back in 2006. We did not do any Mott the Hoople (clue was in the name).

Rip off the Machine were unbelievably good back in Scarborough many, many years back.

Dread Zeppelin are real. And awesome.

They are indeed. Strangely enough, the artwork that iTunes downloaded when I ripped the CD 'The Best of Led Zeppelin Vol. 1' was the cover of Dread Zeppelin's 'Un-Led-Ed' album. Someone who works with the online database surely has a sense of humour.
