Changed the tuners (elephant ears), bridge and added a hotrails, cream pickguard and pickup cover - to be extra pimpy!!! Super fun to play, the neck is very comfortable and fast. Gets big and thumpy. Depending on the amp can get a nice 60s p tone thump, but it can also dig in and growl when I want it to. Trueno Posted May 9, 2018 Share Posted May 9, 2018 Very nice. In fact, you've proved to be inspirational for me. I've been thinking of pimping my Squier Jaguar SS. I put a Gotoh bridge on but also thinking of new pups and new electronics... and possibly a whizzy pickguard. The only problem is that it sounds pretty good as it is... way better than I'd expect for the price. If it plays well, like you say yours does, why not keep it and pimp it up. I had to change the cheap guitar pup on the bronco, the hot rails hugely improves the sound. Tuners were from a squier p bass affinity, closed backs, direct replacement. I've sold a lot of stuff recently and I just wonder if I should spend some of the money I've made. Don't really want to buy a new base. But it ain't broke...
