The Walnut burr looks really nice but when I cut it to the shape you lose most of the figuring

The Zebrano is my favourite as well

Here’s the mock-up with Ebony fretboard and matching headstock

The pickup config is going to change to soapbars with all black hardware 😀

I've finally had time to start on the neck and body laminations

And here's how the body will sit

I'm kinda leaning towards a maple fretboard (this is just ply for illustrative purposes)

Hopefully I'll get time to glue it up today............ 😀

Didn't really manage to get a lot done today as I'm still trying to get my head round how the wings are going to fit with a lot of help and advice from @Andyjr1515

I managed to get the scarf joint cut and glued up

So what is the neck made of now, sapele and maple?

I wonder, as I have a big bit o mahogany waiting for me and spent longer than I should browsing exotic woods yesterday :D

No its Sapele and white polycarbonate (I saw it and thought it why not?!?!)

I didn't remake the neck I just made a new small length and recut the scarf joint.........

What glue do you use to bond wood and polycarbonate? Cheers

I like the pioneering spirit! :D

Well I thought if it works then you have got a wide varieties of colours to use instead of just different shades of woods and it's cheaper than some constructional veneers 😀

That just sounds so wrong on so many levels!! 😱

Although I think it might just work in combination with my built in hamster-wheel powered active bass.  I've got the paperwork going through the patents office as we squeak speak.
