Classic Amplification. Forgotten the guy's name, but he's in the US and produces direct replacements for the various era of Ricky pup.

I had a set made for a 4003 about 5 or 6 years ago.

Typing on the phone so can't get the link up, but Google it and his site should emerge!

There's a few options available at a few price points.

At the lower price end, there are the Retrovibe Hy Gane pickups. £25 + £5 p&p

They also do a humbucking 'toaster' style pickup with 4 wires. £29 + £5 p&p

Email them if you want more than one, and they'll send you a PayPal invoice, combining the postage.

Higher up the price range, there's the Seymour Duncan humbuckers.

Gemini Pickups in the UK hand wind replacement pickups, iirc, they're about £130 a set.

Nordstrand have just released the 'Nordbocker' neck pickup. Don't know how much they are.

Then there's Classic Amplification in the US, but they'll be quite expensive.

Best place for all your Rickenfakery needs is the FB group of the same name:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/78514186083/

BC doesn't allow direct discussion of where to purchase Fakers & Faker parts because we have had issues with John Hall, RIC's CEO.

However there are no such restrictions on the FB group. :)

  • 1 month later...

Ordered a pair the other week, fitted the bridge pickup, but the neck one is too long to fit in my scratchplate. Need to either order a new one, or attempt to make one.

The bridge pickup sounds great, quite 'zingy'. Looks cool too.
