Advice needed! Sansamp + PV1500

Hi guys, long time lurker. First proper post on here.

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this set up? I'm running a SansAmp bddi v2 into a Peavey PV1500 into a Ashdown ABM 4x10 8ohm.

The problem I am having is I can't get any real volume out of it. I am running it in bridge mode, but even volume to full on both the sansamp and peavey I can't get it above room volume. At 1000 watt bridged and the cab being 650 RMS I was hoping I would get a lot lot louder.

Also I lose all clarity from my dirt pedals. At best they increase the volume. No audible dirt can be heard.

Any help would be great,

Luke

Could be many things, but start without Sansamp.  If bass into amp/cab doesn’t produce gigging volume, then there’s a problem (speaker cable/sockets?).

I’m guessing the PV is a power amp, not full head.  Should still be ok, if the Sansamp uses the jack output set to its high/line level option (with the small push button).  Also, look up the manual for the amp and get to know the options for speaker connection (sometimes complicated for power amps with multiple uses)

best of luck

The cab is 8 Ohms correct? That's 1000 watts bridged. Which output of the pedal are you using and what are the settings on the pedal? The Bass Driver DI's output is not ideal for that amp but it should be sufficient to make it work. Are you running any other pedals after the Bass Driver DI?

Peavey PV1500 is indeed a power amp, so will need line level (at least .775mv) to drive it adequately. A bass without a preamp will not provide that and neither will most pedals.
