Markbass combo - removing the amp

Hi all.  Only just worked out that I can remove my amp from my Markbass combo to take it to the studio (where they already have a decent cab in place).  Only thing is, there is no top to it!   Will I be ok using/trasporting it like this or should I fabricate some kind of portable wooden case for it?

Still wonder why they didn't just allow it to be removed properly.

Because products like these are costed down to the last penny. They have to be to make the business viable – manufacturing and selling things is really tough.

One of the main selling points when I bought my Jeff Berlin combo was the "removable" head. I never needed to but if I knew they were only three sided I would have had second thoughts.

Sold it a long time ago so it doesn't really matter...

Never designed to be used outside the cabinet, just removable for service. Some people got a cheap plastic chopping board( the thin type), cut to size and used that- 2009 post:

When I had mine, I cut a bit of perspex to size & drilled a couple of holes for screws to go through.  Only took it out a couple of times to take to rehearsal, as the cab there was decent, but the amp was crap.

Wow is have expected it to be a std head casing .

Cant see any problems if you make a cover for it , presumably the wood is the cover in it's usuall home so it need not be any fancy material to mirror that

As mentioned above cheap Perspex or plastic cut to size will do
