Fender jazz bass Pro series

Recommended Posts

I played at Pro Jazz V in Guitar Guitar Epsom and was impressed. I liked the feel of it and thought the redesigned pickups sounded good. The B string sounded "attached" to the rest of the bass, which doesn't always happen with Fenders. It was way too heavy for my shoulder/back but I liked it.

I bought a flamed maple top one with rosewood fingerboard tail end of last year. It’s a beautifully made instrument. The neck seems super comfortable and fast compared to the stingray I’ve played for the lat 25 years. Sounds gorgeous but it’s the first j bass I’ve played so nothing to compare it to. I would say that the stingray has more sustain and will cut through any mix without trying. But I’m in a soul covers band now so wanted something a bit more subtle and in keeping.
