Excellent point and one we hear quite often. We do like to keep our sold stock on the website as it can give you an idea of the kind of stock we've had in the past (some people also just like the bass porn), however I do agree that it can clutter the website. Behind the scenes we're currently working on some tweaks to our website which will hopefully solve this problem!

Ok - so there is plenty of feedback which agrees with what I have said. Having looked more carefully at your website, I reckon it would take Panda Technical Services (your website creator) about 10 minutes work  to add another field to the table which appears when you choose the Additional Information tab. These fields are then used in the Sort By section.

Lets see how quickly you choose to make these changes.

Or, more accurately, lets see how long it takes the web company to make the changes. Speaking from experience the simplest jobs can take an age to get fixed and I’m sure The Gallery will do their best!

I'e been a customer of The Gallery from when they first opened. I've had 8 custom made Sei Basses built for me by Martin and the team since then, plus loads of bass equipment. They've always gone out of their way to get what I'm looking for. Great guys

Anytime in in London, I always try to pop in to say "hello" (with a pack of Jaffa Cakes!).

Congratulations on the quarter of a century milestone guys!

Kevin.

Sadly I have never made it to the shop in all the years I have been playing. I’m not a frequent visitor to London but next time I am there I am making a special pilgrimage.

I really respect you coming on here and having a presence and opening yourselves up to criticism as well as all of the compliments. Good customer service is as much about resolving issues, as it is providing faultless service from the start, in my opinion.

Well done on the Instagram too, lots of lovely basses!

Welcome to Basschat :)

Have been to the shop a few times over the years - my Epifani cabs were purchased from there in 2007 - my experience of the shop has generally been a good one so can't complain. Great shop, and looking forward to the day when I can walk in and buy a new bass from you.

I've only had good experiences at the Gallery. It's an amazing place - just packed with a huge range of basses.

They've always been more than happy for me to browse and try as much gear as I like (I've brought one or two over the years but I've spent way more time browsing than buying!)

Most recently I was able to try out barefaced cabs in the shop and borrow their demo cabs while I waited for my new ones to arrive.

I've always found Charlie and Martin to be really helpful and friendly :)

Great experiences with them through the years, miles ahead of most shops in London.

Agree that on the webpage the Sold items should be separated somehow, makes browsing a bit awkward sometimes.

Looking forward to my next visit!

Whilst I agree with a separate area for the sold kit (a la Bassdirect), it did take me 9 pages of searching the 5 string basses before the sold ones came up, not really a big issues for me. On the other hand I did no sort and just paged through.

Having just looked now at your website, and speaking as someone who has bought quite a few basses online recently, your price filter could do with a tweak.

If you want to filter by price, you have two options: £0-10,000 (containing 228) and £10,000-£20,000 (containing 1, which is sold). So effectively you don't have a price filter!

Ahh - now I see that is some kind of automatic thing, depending on what category you have selected. That is odd.

Sorry to be fussy, I have spent a lot of time doing websites in my life :D

Hello Charlie and Team, interacting with an active community like Basschat is a great way to generate more loyal customers!  It worked with me anyway, I've just placed my first order :D

Don't keep us guessing! What is it?!

I haven't been there for a while, but it used to be a regular place for me to buy stuff.

A long time back, I remember going in there to try an Amp with my Sadowsky. Martin said " That's the highest action I have seen, can I do something with it?"

xD

Proper Bass shop, long may it continue.

I do hope your trousers didn’t fall down while you were there! Still laughing at your letter in Bassist magazine regarding Chapman Stick and trouser accident! 😂

If there is a better bass shop in the country, I'd sure like to know. Have been a customer since 2001. Sold instruments on commission, bought amps, strings, bits and pieces, had lots of setups and repairs done. Always top-notch service from Martin, John, and now Charlie. The best.
