For Sale/Trade: Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray 5 - Black & Maple w/ John East Preamp

So I'm finally getting round to selling this after a year of barely playing it - I really thought this was a lifer, but after leaving the band I needed a 5er for I've come to the realisation that I just really don't get on with 5 strings, especially when I'm not practicing a lot. While I'll be sad to see it go, it deserves more usage than I can give it - a really versatile workhorse of an instrument, no matter what style you play.

So with all that sentimental stuff out of the way... the good, the bad and the ugly: This bass has tons of tonal flexibility due to the upgraded John East Pre; has both active and passive options (with a toggle switch), bass, treble and sweepable mids on a stacked pot for you to dial in the perfect tone. Huge low end when required, biting highs if thats your thing and sounds amazing with either fingers or a pick. I've used it in numerous studio sessions and always received compliments on it's tonality - the John East Pre does the "Musicman" sound really well, whilst also offering tons of other options too.

The bass is a beauty - the figuring of the maple neck is lovely, with a bit of a birds-eye look to parts of it. The pick guard is custom to accommodate the John East Pre. It's been well-used and gigged a lot over the last few years, so it's got a few battle scars (mostly headstock dings - see the pictures for details) but I've included close-ups of anything noticeable - nothing you wouldn't expect from a bass of it's age/how much it's been gigged. Neck plays brilliantly, I've always had a slightly higher action setup due to being played in Drop A (and my overly aggressive playing in my last band), but can get good and low if required. Comes with strap locks and a strap that is honestly the most comfortable I've ever used - nicely distributes the weight and balances the bass.

The serial number E02507 makes it about a June/July 1998 model (worked out here: http://www.musicmanbass.org/mycustompage0054.htm)

Ideally I'm looking for a trade here but will sell outright. What would I like in a trade? I'm really only interested in 4 string Fender Jazz basses (road worn is a plus), Warwicks or Laklands. A Part-ex with cash my way would be great, as I'm just not playing as much and don't need as high quality a bass as this for my current studio projects.

Happy to deliver within the North-West (I'm based near Manchester) - or I can post at buyer's expense (including insurance), although I don't have a single-bass case for it (I only have double cases). I'm open to discussing including a Mono M80 Dual Bass case as I have two (one with some seam-splittage, one relatively new) at additional cost.
