** SOLD*** Gibson Ripper & Original Gibson Case
£1000

Here is my beloved Gibson Ripper that I have cherished for about 5 or 6 years, but she must go as just used so much anymore as I seem to be more of a P bass man now.

This was set up a couple of years ago by Jonathan Law at Feline Guitars and plays like a dream. As part of the set up, I asked Jonathan to change the wiring on the pickup selector to swap from the useless "out of phase" option to a front pickup option for a nice P bass tone. This is easily reverted back to standard if required.

The original bridge has been swapped for the Hipshot Supertone replacement which is far more robust. I still have the existing bridge too.

Bass is also screened so no annoying buzzes or hums. Currently strung with fairly new Elixir 45 - 105.

I'll be sorry to see this go but needs must.

**NO TRADES PLEASE**

Ideally I'd prefer pickup only (I am based in West Sussex) to avoid worrying about damage in transit. If postage is necessary, I'll have to calculate postage costs.

I'll let the photos do the talking although dreadful dreary day for photos!

Thanks Nik - hope all is good with you mate!

Fine thanks, and hope that's the same with you too?

Some beautiful gear you've put up for sale today Gary; and if this is what you're letting go, you must be keeping some awesome gear!

Hi Nik - just time to sell gear I no longer gig with. The Ampeg & Mesa rig makes a great practice amp in the office but takes up way too much room!

I haven’t seen a cleaner example since about ‘75. I love these! Still have my massively customised Ripper. Too big for me these days but playability is fabulous and a great growling tone. Original case too - extermely rare!

Just saw all the related ads - if I had a hangar and £3.5k, I’d just have the lot shipped north. A seller of exquisite taste and one that evidently cares for his gear extremely well!  Bump...this bass has me all excited

Just to add to this, the bass was built in 1978.

I suspected as much as the pickup mountings were slightly different from about 77 with the fixings being to the scratchplate, not the bass.

I hope that helps.

Built in: 14-apr-1978 (serial: 135) (Manufactured in Kalamazoo)
