Speeding up string deadness.

I just spent an hour reading threads on Talkbass about speeding up the wearing in of bass strings, particularly if only 1 needs changing. There’s actually discussions about using E45 or Euracin creams or chicken fat or submerging them in melted crisco before putting them on the bass.

flipping mental. What’s up with those yanks?

i don’t like super bright newness but I’ve got a tone control.

I like old steels. The ones on my Marleaux have been on for about 4 year and they are great.

My P-Ray has La Bella Low Tension Flats. I really like them, but they are a bit crap for modern rock. Old steels would suit better but it’s a bright bass and it would take years to bed in a set properly.
