Race
Rich and Stevie - Thank you so much for posting the files. I'm re-booting my bass playing after a nearly 10 year hiatus and found Major's Boot Camp to be an invaluable resource. I was downloading the files only as I used them and was dismayed to find them gone yesterday when I logged on to download the next set of lessons. Thanks again - Dave
Stephen Houghton
Hi This may be a really dumb question but I have been looking through these and there is lots of great information but I cant see any actual music notation any where, am I missing something? Cheers, Steve
stevie
It's in the PDFs.
Jim6808
Thanks for this, a really excellent resource
schmig
Likewise I see no notation at all in first set of PDFs posted. Don't think it's a problem with my viewer. Could anyone please verify that there's sheet music in the PDFs on page one? Would much appreciate it.
stevie
When you click on the name of the PDF file, a box should popup asking you whether you want to open or save the file. Your PDF viewer should then do the rest when you click in the box. They're there - I've just checked. Try the Foxit reader, available from here: <https://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf-reader/>
schmig
No luck with various readers...very strange. If and when I figure out what's up I'll post something here. Am on linux and have tried out the chrome renderer / foxit / whatever reader was already installed on the laptop..no joy!
schmig
Used a couple of cmdline utils to extract all images from The Major's Bass Boot Camp text for Sessions 1 to 14e.pdf etc...also asked a friend with a windows machine to open the files..nada! stevie
The files on page 1 with "text" in the file name are descriptive. The files with "score" in them contain the notation. These open with a regular PDF viewer.
schmig
My apologies. How the hell I missed that...sorry.
Burns-bass
I still don't see how I can get the notation. I'm on a Mac so might explain it?
Rich
Must be a Mac thing. They open ok on a PC.

D.I. Joe
Thanks Rich and Stevie for keeping and re-uploading this fabulous resource. I must admit, I too was puzzled by the lack of notation in the pdfs before taking a second look at the post!
Ricky 4000
Wow, thanks @Rich and @stevie for reproducing a great resource! Hope I'm not being daft, but it looks like 28a 28b 28c score pdfs are missing from Stevie's post above...? stevie
You're right, Ricky. I've just checked my hard disk and I don't have them. I'll check my laptop later today, but I think they might be lost for all time - unless someone else has saved them. The Major hasn't posted on here for years. I often wonder what happened to him. Retired maybe?
Rich
I definitely don't have them, alas.
stevie
That's a shame. It's such a great body of work. A pity it's not complete, but there's still plenty to be getting on with.

A pity it's not complete, but there's still plenty to be getting on with. Perhaps somebody good enough might write out the 3 missing scores from listening to the mp3s one day? Isn't that a common exersize with music students? Who knows, when I reach lesson 28, even I might be able to do it! Or come back to it... (I imagine there's some kind of score writing software out there, like an Office Suite for music?)
Rich
I thought it would be worth bumping this to the top, as there are probably a lot of newer members who have not seen this brilliant resource and would possibly benefit from it.
