However, you can clearly derive from the woodworks if the body that there cannot have been a J-pick up in it and the electronics have a blend pot, so there must have been another pick up when the bass was built. I checked with Fodera and they confirm the Brazilian board but have no record of the pickups unfortunately. However, originally the bass was fretless. That is why you see masked dots in the wrong place. Specs: Alder body Sunburst Thick Brazilian DN board Golden hardware 19mm spacing 34" 4300 grams Comes with original padded Fodera bag Well balanced, fast straight neck, perfectly working truss rod, low action no fret buzz in any position. Great tonal versatility: can sound like a sweet fat P bass but also like a crispy Music Man though never 'harsh'. With both pick ups on the bass has a fat, tight sound that is close to a 'normal' PJ. The bass shows playing wear (ofcourse!) but nothing serious. I'd say: vintage! Note: this is not a NYC or Standard series (which are also great) but the real deal from what is considered to be the golden era of Fodera.
