Hi all. I thought I'd drop in here and say hello.

I found this forum on recommendation from a bass playing friend.

Im pretty new to the bass playing scene, I've only been playing since the beginning of September this year.

Songs I like and influences are pretty much anything from the 50's to the present day. If I like the sound of it I'll try to learn it. Some songs that I've learnt so far are:

All my loving - The Beatles

Pure - The lightning seeds

New York City Cops - The strokes (plus one or two more strokes tunes)

Here comes your man - pixies (and most other popular pixies tunes)

Times is running out - muse

so pretty basic stuff but I'm working at itand I have to remind myself that I only picked up the bass 3 months ago.

Gear wise, nothing to write home about. An early 90's Aria pro 2 that I picked up and a 20w practice amp. They will do me for the time being.

I practice each day, even if for ten minutes on an evening, splitting my time between playing and learning songs and trying to learn theory sort of stuff.

I think that's pretty much it. Oh I'm left handed and play left handed too.

Cheers

Ryan

Cheers dad. That's what I'm here for. To read and learn.

I think I got here with those intentions too.

Can I suggest you stay out of the gear for sale area, i went from owning 2 basses for 20+ years to around 20 in 2 years !! xD
