Schaller 2000 vs 3D, anyone tried both?

I'm in the process of upgrading a squier jazz bass and am planning on going with one of these, however I've read mixed reviews on both but nobody comparing the two? Has anybody had experience with both? The jazz bass now has a P pickup so thought the adjustable spacing could come in handy.

Thanks

Once you've got them set up they are both excellent bridges. However IME the 2000 is a complete pain to adjust. I would seriously have to be in love with everything else about a bass to contemplate buying one fitted with the 2000 bridge again.

If I was going to retro-fit one to a bass it would have to be the 3D.

Do you need string spacing adjustment? If not I'd be tempted to go with a bridge with fixed string spacing. One less thing to worry about. Gotoh, hipshot or Fender high mass bridges. I say this owning a bass with a Shaller 3D. It's a nice unit, although I never liked the spacing plate needed for certain basses. Not a particularly elegant solution.
