Recommended Posts

Hi everyone.

My band, Sula Sula, will be playing at the 13th Note in Glasgow city centre next Saturday the 18th Nov.

We are supporting a new Band called The Zombie Economists in their inaugural gig and they are followed by Psychobabe

FREE entry, good range of drinks, vegan restataunt upstairs  and we take the stage at the back of 8pm

hope to see some of you there if you are looking for a free night out in Glasgow next weekend

All three bands will be sporting rock type originals with the odd cover.

18 year old bassist and kinda-songwriter looking to start a heavy sort of band, with lots of dirty riffs, overlapping rhythms, and deep lyrics.
Tool's my main influence, followed by Muse, Karnivool, Leprous, Neurosis, Gojira, Toska. I like some of the more classic stuff too, Sabbath, Metallica, Maiden, the works. But I'm not interested in sounding particularly like any band, I wanna forge something new.
Based in Fratton, so Portsmouth/Southampton/surrounding areas preferred. I've got gear for gigging and several ideas for songs. Not really fussed when it comes to age or bodily makeup or any of that jazz.

      Hello all,
I have just joined a 70s rock covers band and am thinking of putting flats back on my Jazz. I usually use a Bearfoot Blueberry to get a bit of grit and having flats on the Jazz bass gives me a really nice 'vintage' tone (think JPJ on early Zep records).
I've always been curious about tapes and woud like to know how they differ from flats in feeling, tension and sound. I have no experience playing tapes but thought they would be quite similar to the flats I normally use. My nut has already been filed for thicker gauge strings so fitting tapes shouldn't be a problem.
      Any help or advice welcome!

Bassist required for blues rock band based in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
Age & Gender immaterial. Hard worker essential. Position will not suit a beginner.
Car driver and backing vocals an asset but not essential.
Auditions take place in groups of 3 so candidates always have a 1 in 3 chance of being successful.
8 numbers to learn for audition which will take place in February.
If successful you won't earn a fortune but a part of the year is spent playing abroad - so successful applicant will build an creditable CV.
Gigs to commence in the end of April/ May.

So, I'm trying to minimise my life a little at the moment. A part of this is just getting rid of most of my possessions. CDs seem like a good place to start (gear might come next if I can bear to part with any of it). I thought I'd post them here, as we're a musically minded community.
I've sorted them all alphabetically and there's quite a broad range of music there, so there should be something for everyone.
I'm selling each CD for 50p.
Postage for a large letter is 76p, so if just buying a singular CD, add 76p for postage. If buying more than one, we can negotiate a price and postage options.
Can you please PM me with what you'd like to take. Thanks!

      Hello one and all,

We (bassist and guitarist) are on the hunt for a drummer to complete our instrumental trio after losing our previous one to emigration. We play original music of a math rock, gypsy jazz leaning. We currently rehearse around north London, work full time, have families but are dedicated to getting some fun gigs, and more importantly, putting out some interesting recorded music.

We have an EP for your listening pleasure on our Bandcamp page: http://corybantic.bandcamp.com/releases
If the above tickles your fancy, then we would very much like to hear from you.
