Tremolo suggestions

Hey all. Currently in the throes of building my first pedalboard having decided to dip my toes in after 25 years of playing with very few effects. Anyway, I could do with some recommendations for a decent Trem pedal. Not particularly got a budget as such but Unsure how much I'll use it, so if there's a decent budget option, that could work in the first instance!

Cheers

I'd def get a trem with a volume control, the boss tr2 is great and cheap but can give the impression there's a slight volume loss without the volume.

I've got a few trems that I go between, the lateral sound tremfix and fuzzrocious tremorslo

Sadly the tremorslo is discontinued but the trem fix has a lot of shapes and is a very small footprint so worth a look

Thanks for the thread. I arrived late to the 'Tremolo on Bass' party... but it's become an integral part of my sound (and pedal board).

For starters, and as a budget option, I might try the JF-09 by JOYO which cost around £30. They are compact size and also go by the name of 'Harley Benton' and this: -

As far as I know, they are the same circuit. I haven't owned a TR-02 ~ but I don't like the reviews it gets, and at £90 it's not that cheap! (I do like the new Pipeline by TC though...)

Another trem that doesn't come cheap is the Earthquaker Devices Night Wire: - here's my review on Bass (with sound clips): -

Depends what you want from the trem.
nice and subtle or choppy as hell? Tap Tempo?

ones that do a lot are the chase bliss and dwarfcraft twin stags.
the chase bliss also does harmonic trem, so does the EQD night wire.
EQD also have the hummingbird for real chopped up trem stutters.

the supro also should be a nice one.

fulltone and Thorpy does a nice sounding trem but there are loads out there really.

I find for bass the subtle or harmonic trems are less suited, I tend to go more for the rhythmic chop.

I have a Marshall vibratrem which I was given a good while ago.
They are surprisingly easy to find at a good price- only around £40 new

Yep, I was just about to suggest this. In fact I have one I'm about to move on as I no longer need it.

Those Marshall pedals are all great for the money and seem to have slipped largely under the radar, which helps to keep prices down on the used market.
